Dude, what about the cold steel wild West Bowie I got one. I love it.

I have a Basic, a Companion, an Eldris & a Kansbol. I must say I like the Kansbol most among them since the handle is very grippy, the thin-out tip of the blade is perfect for my food prep & fine cuts, and basicly that's a strong robust knife.

Good to know. I've been wanting one of the Recon 1 knives.

Why does everyone who does some kind of so-called review of a large knife like a Bowie knife always take and split wood with it with another log or a hammer or something? If you’re going to split wood, you use a hatchet or an ax and if you’re splitting large logs, do you use a log splitter or splitting maul. Why try and destroy a knife that way? it’s so ridiculous. When I drive nails, I use a hammer. When I cut up limbs, I use a chainsaw. They use a screwdriver even to put in screws.

Suspenders are needed to carry that belt effectively otherwise your hips are and lower back are going to feel it ask any carpenter or who moves all day with a belt loaded with tools, otherwise solid stuff man

Emerson like Benckmade are off the charts expensive. Think they would sell a lot more knives if they weren't so greedy.

Excellent belt build, but where's your gun for SHTF? ;-) I'd add a small steel water bottle/cup and silnylon tarp with some lightweight paracord for rigging. Definitely need that Sharpie for occasional sniffing!

I have bought one in pretty good condition second hand for not even a 3rd of the current retail value. I have a few backpacks and I’m going to swap out my 5.11 rush 72 for this pack as my day to day pack. I work between a combination of office and onsite work. My 2 complaints with the Tiburon is that the side pockets are pretty small and not quite large enough for decent size water bottles. 500ml is fine but 750 at best if you’re lucky. Also there’s no obvious place to stash a laptop. I have a MacBook Pro and would have appreciated a slip pocket to the back of the pack. If you want this as an edc backpack although being very good it’s no good if you want to have a dedicated laptop compartment and sling water. Who wants them 2 items in the main compartment?!

I'm from Sweden and every Swedish soldier carries a Mora 2000! There is probably at least one Mora knife in every Swedish home, here they are very affordable so there is no reason to buy anything else. An alternative is, of course, Hultafors, also a Swedish brand.

The Voyager XL knives..... Are some of the absolute best knives I've ever owned. Cold Steel gets such a bad rep due to some of their over the top pieces they make..... But I have had better luck out of their products than any other ones ever..... If I could only choose just one blade to go through the apocalypse.... it'd be one that Mr Thompson made. I say all this as a Spyderco Fan Boy too.....

I just happened on this video while I’m considering adding a SAK to my knife collection and EDC rotation. I’m gravitating towards the Huntsman. Thanks for your timely & thorough video.

Bear and Sons Bowie is just a new version of the old Classic Western W49, and I do believe Bear bought the toolings when Camillus went out of business..Camillus bought Western from Coleman, and Coleman bought Western from Western when they decided to retire

I think the mini knife in an altoid's kit is unpractical. The reason is that if you have an altoid's kit in your pocket, you should also have a pocket knife.

The best choice in a Swiss Army Knife is the Victorinox Explorer. You neglected to notice that your knife had two flat screwdrivers. That isn't a punch---It's an awl.

Buck has a lot of experience with those type pressed pivots ,they have been doing them since the late 80's & early 90's so they have confidence in that pivot point as long as you don't abuse it like the foolish do. 😊
