I don't know what state you are at (I'm in PHX-AZ) but I would like to know how much you charge for labor to install 13 panels+AC disconnect outside near the panel+RSD PLC kit inside the garage. I already have the 13 panels+APsmart RSD for each panel+APsmart trasmitter PLC kit AC+ disconnect. Thanks.

Very informative. That said, I would have taken greater pains to control metal shards from drilling through side of panel. They were flying all over the area. It only takes one to short out a very expensive system. Otherwise a pretty sano job.

Does 3.65 volts mean 100% charge and 3.4 volts will charge the cell to 80%? Or are 3.65, 3.5, or 3.4 volts the charging speed of the cell?
@SolarEngineering2 күн бұрын
3.65 full charge, 3.45 ~80%. But LFP charge graph is pretty flat, so 3.45 can be ~70%-85%

I agree with other comments - that this test is not a fair test because of the way you do shading. The hard shading invokes 2/3 of the bypass diodes which bypass the panel, but the optimizer softened that, and made it worse. But if you do more realistic shading, or make the panels off-axis, then you'll see how the optimizers can improve things. Here you have created an artificially "unoptimizable" problem, which makes the optimizers look bad.

I realize tha this video is 3 years old, but I just discovered the "magical" difference that Lithium Iron Polyomer has compared to Lith-Ion I have been using. I know that there is a chemistry that requires the pack have a constant positive pressure. Is that LiPo that I am thinking of? And if this video is 3 years old, what are you up to these days? My subscription is earned. #trustory

Very nice, thanks for sharing that! What specs are for a panel, how many watts and kg? Also, 9:30 mounting the powerwalls, isn't that too close to the ground? Mainly because of rain or even flooding, sometimes. Or snow, during winters. But it depends on the area, of course.
@SolarEngineering4 күн бұрын
powerwall can be submerged into water at the level where red cap installed at the front. It's fully sealed below this level.

@@SolarEngineering Looks like they dropped the cap here with SDGE when they changed the net metering. I'm getting two Powerwall 3s installed today onto my existing system. I had a 10 panel Enphase based system and a newer 27 panel SolarEdge system. Removing all the inverters and using the PW3 ones instead with the backup switch and no gateway.

That is a lot of work for a 1-2 person crew! I had about 6 guys at a minimum and it was just a 24 panel install on 3 sections of the roof and no battery. They had to drive nearly 3.5 hours to get here so I'm sure finishing in one day was their goal.

Does 57.6 volts refer to the charging speed or the energy storage limit of the battery? If someone sets it to 56 volts instead, will they get the same battery backup as with 57.6 volts?

Curious why you chose the Solark instead of staying with EG4 ecosystem with the 18k?
@paulbram26 күн бұрын
could you technically power the entire home using backfeed to the main panel? I'm interested in a similar setup, but don't want to have to pick/choose my critical loads and would rather do a whole home backup up to the max 12K the inverter can support. I think the system will auto pull from the grid for any loads over 12k?
@SolarEngineering5 күн бұрын
you'll need to relocated all loads from main panel. Or install tesla backup switch, which can do full-home backup without circuits relocation.
