If only there was some sort of on field technology available that could "bleep" conformation in the umpire's ear when there is a "close" call. Perhaps call it Hawkeye or something, implying its accuracy in tracking the flight or pathway of a ball.

The judges are showing off their privileges like the American police. Judges who swallow the excitement of the audience as well as the players are disappearing in Korea. The AI referee (ABS) will judge the ball. And other controversial decisions minimize misjudgment by video reading. They know better how many misjudgment the judges have. Referee? Referee?? It's rotten!!

The referee is almost like a gangster. Professional baseball with no fair play and no sportsmanship?? I'm just laughing~^^

Uncivilized American, use AI to judge Strick and Ball. In Korea, at least, there are no quarrels with the ball and the stride. There's no one who doesn't know how many games went wrong because of the referee's misjudgment, right?

No batter should have so little bat control that they overswing like so many of these do. If they do, then they don't belong in the majors.

We have the technology to eliminate these bad calls, relieving the umpires from calling balls and strikes. It would be interesting to see the stats on bad calls for each team in the game to reveal any favoritism.

There is so much justified concern about catchers and hitters being hit in baseball, and they have well-designed equipment to protect them. Yet every pitcher who stands on the mound and takes a 110mph comebaker off the side of his head is "just part of the game" when all he has between his head and the ball is a cloth cap. Charlie Morton pitching with a broken leg after getting hit by a comebacker is another example. Is there any workable solution? Not sure there is.

I was at a game in Pittsburgh during the 2000 season in which the home plate umpire took a foul ball to the face. He was immediately knocked out cold. Seeing him laying there on his back with his arms out wide made just about everyone wonder if the worst possible thing just happened. Fortunately he did recover and was able to walk off the field. Of course he didn't return.

"If you want to test a man's character, give him power." Literally no point in arguing with them, just seems to feed their egos. As a batter, I'd probably just point to where the ball was and hope that wasn't enough for an ejection (the pitcher staring down Joe West was probably as proper and effective a response as you can give). As a manager, I'd just roll my eyes and make the substitution while patiently waiting for the computers to replace them.

The announcers should get out of the umpiring business. It is easy to look at the pitch over and over with the strike zone frame and make a call. Umpires don't have that luxury and have to make a call instantly base on what they see from behind the plate. The strike zone frame should be taken out of the TV picture! Announcers should announce and not umpire the game.

Take the first four people come through the gates at any major league stadium and have them umpire the game. dollars to donuts that would be a better game
