I wanted a car as good as one of my all time favourite - the classic mini minor panel van. I got me a 2001 1300 MANUAL Demio and ripped the back seats out straight away. Magnificent vehicle! Cracks 110 kph easily @ 3500 rpm. A perfect update for the 21st century and best of all - FACTORY CASSETTE/CD player. The glory of analogue sound is worth it alone. Get one if you can find one. Make sure it's a manual and you will never be sorry.

Glad to hear you love yours. I am hunting out manual Demios, specifically 2001/02 cars but nothing has come yet. 1300 or 1500 as long as the car is in reasonable condition (unlike the one I had). The auto Demio is too sluggish for me and the input shaft seal issues make doing up one not particularly viable. I can imagine with the sseats down you can get quite a lot in the back.

@@turn6garage640 Honestly haven't even bothered looking at a 1.5 because I am cheap. Mine had 160k on the clock & I had to travel 500 k's to get it, but was gobsmacked when it easily went by 125kph before I eased off - & that was with rear seats. They really are heavy! Only 2 female owners and all country miles with full service history. V.cheap 3 years ago. A long way off 200k still and only issue was an oil seal to the distributor. I got lucky with a mechanic who recognised it quickly. Good luck, there's one out there, just stop praising them. It's our secret. It also sleeps two, full length, comfortably.

Here from my 2010 Kia Rio JB 1.4 petrol. Basically the same car with a ton of interchangeable parts. It's a dream to work on and service. Tons of space and simple design (no direct injection, turbos or intercoolers etc). The only real fix I've had to do is change the clutch slave cylinder due to water ingress under the rubber boot which led to pitting and pressure loss. My only personal gripe I have is the 1.4 g4ee petrol engine isn't the best motorway cruiser. 70mph is around 3200 rpm, a tad noisy.
@turn6garage640
@turn6garage640 2 ай бұрын
Definitely looking at adding a JB to the Carshare fleet. Size and practicality plus they seem to be cheaper in manual guise especially than the equivalent Getz. Glad to hear you are liking yours, the Getz also cruised at 100km/h at 3000rpm and it was a bit on the noisy side. Economy was good though even with the noise.

Check the top of the intake manifold. On a SOHC Getz, that's where it is in the diagram. Alternatively, put your VIN into Partsouq or Catcar and the diagram will be there showing its exact location for your car as there were some minor changes mechanically between 2003-2005 model years cars and 2006-on cars (like the one in the video).

That's a pretty good review - accurate , that's important. I had a 2012 Peugeot 308 HDi (2.0L diesel). Top of the range - L/S A/wheels etc etc. Great car. I hammered it. 10 years of trouble free driving. The problems with Peugeot quality were from very late 90's into the early 2000's. Bought the car as an ex Peugeot Australia car. 7000kms on it - $12000 off new price. I took the car to specialist mechanics, both of whom told me to stay with the 2.0L diesel. The best European engine bar none. I decided to buy an SUV late last year (getting older and less agile) so I looked for a Peugeot 3008 diesel. Took me a while but I eventually found a 2022 Peugeot 3008GT HDi (2.0L) diesel - ex demo. They priced out at about $65K approx. I bought mine for $42K - 2022 was the last of the Peugeot diesels. Oh, and I got the 5 year free service and road assistance package. Only thing wrong with it was a scratch on a back wheel arch. We had never driven a Peugeot with the i-cockpit and we were stoked with it. I had read all the English and European reviews and was a bit hesitant about the small steering wheel and the cockpit type inside. It is magic. I am tall and my wife is quite short - no problems finding comfortable driving positions. I found the steering pretty responsive and my wife loves how light it is to use around town. The 2.0L diesel has plenty of power and the 8 sp. auto box is excellent (and yes I do drive it in manual - especially on windy roads). I found the ride excellent. Has Michelin types (a plus) and holds the road well for an SUV. Love the big boot (wife needs the boot size). Mine has a sunroof which I don't use. I have had no mechanical issues (and didn't expect any). I must admit I wouldn't have paid $65k NEW FOR THE CAR, BUT $42k SEEMED A GOOD DEAL TO ME. I haven't had many highway runs yet but around town I get approx 6.6-7.0L/100kms. I expect about 5-5.5L/100kms on the highway. BTW the 1.2 Puretech and the 1.6 petrol & diesel engines are a fraction underpowered. The 2.0L diesel is the way to go. I see a lot of 308's and the older 307's on the road but not many later model 3008's. I've had a few people stop me in the street to ask me about the car. I don't care about looks but everyone I meet seems to like the look of the car. 2nd BTW - Our family has had Peugeots since 1957 and we have travelled well over 10million kms in Peugeots. You can't kill them - they just keep going and most of us are very hard drivers.

Good to hear you are loving yours. There will be more Peugeot content on the channel soon. I am adding one into my Carshare fleet, a 207 1.4 16v (especially rare in Australia). Despite 15 years of abuse (this was one of the not so well made ones) and head gasket issues, it still ran although its getting a full birthday before it goes into the fleet. I need them to run long distance driven by not so careful drivers, so Peugeots are very much on my list.

$623 including fees. Runs, drives, stops and the a/c works, what more can I ask for the price? Was listed with an engine light, which turned out to be the service light (4000kms overdue from the odo and sticker) and they didn't know the mileage so they sold it as mileage unknown (when all they needed to do was press the button to change info screens). Has 1 key, no books so everything to scare off the average auction buyer was there.

So, my Micra had a bad clutch (84,000 km), bad lower control arms (88,000 km) and now at 90,000 km it looks like grease is leaking out of the rear bearings, so I guess I have now completed the trifecta of common problems with the K13. It is cheaper in Germany to simply buy a hydraulic press than to have a mechanic do any of this - even though as your video shows, it's a fairly straightforward job. I'm going to replace the drums and the brake components while I'm at it, so with SKF bearings it'll probably be good for the lifetime of the vehicle. I assume the front bearings will also need replacing soon, though.

Got a 2015 K13 with 90,000 km on it. It failed inspection due to the front control arms. I replaced them myself - parts were cheap and the job was fiddly but not hard - and it passed. Bearings fine so far. The only other mechanical problem so far has been a premature failure of the engine fan assembly. (Edit: And the clutch started to slip at 84,000 km. Got a garage to replace it for a relatively reasonable 600 euros. Forgot about it because I didn't do it myself!)

nice! I’ve owned 4 of these over the years, all with the 2.3 NA or 2.0 turbo. I’ve always wondered if the v6 versions use the same gearbox (saab f25) as the 4cyl. Or if it’s a GM box out of an Opel/vauxhall
@turn6garage640
@turn6garage640 4 ай бұрын
I did have a check of transmission numbers, the number on mine is 8285082 and as far as I can tell that is a Saab only part just for the V6 in 1994 and 1995. There was a lot of changeover mechanically from 1994-95 cars to 1996 model year cars, so that might be where they share the same gearbox. There were less bespoke V6 parts (as I found out with mine) in later cars. There's a few Saab parts manufactured by GM for Saab's use, the auto box for the V6 is one of them.

I am surprised the leaves didn't fully break up and go into the system.
