Glad to see you well, no job is worth giving up every ounce of energy and time. Good to hear you'll be contuing the vids at least for now, as i must say they've been invaluable to me, and your answering some of the comments i have gave me the confidence to continue getting into live sound, i've now mixed a musical with wireless headsets and i'm about to mix a choir! Stay well

I live less than 100 miles from this church. If they need some maintenance in the future and you’re unable to fly all the way out, I’m more than willing to help. ETA: I’m the FoH engineer at the Backyard Bar, Stage, and Grill, and freelance with a few bands on the road.

As someone whose employer is rapidly shifting to standard corporate mindset and strategies, I'm looking to get out sooner rather than later. You'll never meet their expectations as they are designed to increase in perpetuity. Push someone to the breaking point, fire them, replace them with someone cheaper who doesn't know yet, maximize profit. Rinse/repeat. Glad you got out in time and best of luck!

@@chrishammillaudio Good point, thanks for the update. As to your Patron page you could run different price points for different services, the lowest tier, could be just a monthly token of our appreciation. Just a thought, love the Mustang, is it a 2010?
@chrishammillaudioКүн бұрын
I can definitely do a $5 “thanks for being awesome” tier with names of all patrons in the video description. The Mustang is a 2008 GT Deluxe. Bought it with 35k miles and one previous owner. Garage kept.

That’s a great idea, but anyone can buy a ticket to any show I work and hang out. I guess if I put this in a bracket that is the same admission price that could work and I’d just cover admission at the door.

It’s insane how bad real estate companies treat photographers and videographers. I worked for a guy selling houses for a bit and holy shit do they undervalue what we do! They make like $20+k off of one sale but apparently only have a $500 marketing budget? Ya ok lol
@chrishammillaudio2 күн бұрын
The company I worked for - you see their commercials all the time. They own just about every big name in commercial real estate and just bought a big company for 3D tours. I was well paid - six figure salary. That salary came at a very high mental cost and inappropriate ways the company treated employees.

Dealing with realtors is easy. I always can upsell them on drone images and floor plans. Theyre mostly cheap but quality always demands a higher price especially when I show them my portfolio.

I just happened onto this video. Thank you for it. We are having a big problem with our church’s livestream also. I’m not sure if it’s the same problem and the same fixes would help us. The issue: The worship team mix in the house is great. We have a dedicated channel from the audio mixer to the livestream, which is supposed to mirror the house. It does not. The stream is so…off balance that we are not going to include the singing on the stream anymore until we can get it fixed. Any suggestions? Please 😢

How would you recommend adding monitor checking in this process? I work at a casino in Mississippi and often have trouble balancing my time for fixing monitor wedges (we have 4 front mons) and having enough time to properly soundcheck the mains. Most of the time, I check monitors first and then mains. With limited time before doors open, I usually have to mix on the fly for the mains. Thank you for all the high quality vids! This industry isn't very beginner friendly so it really helps.
