After applying the mud, how long do I have to wait for in order to start dry brushing?

Fun video! I didn't hear you mention it specifically, but be sure to bake your clay before installing your magnets! (Heat damages magnets.)

I would add, as long as you're not texturing the top, you could save a bunch of money using Styrofoam. The stuff is pretty much free and once sealed (mod podge or primer) it's plenty durable. It's easier to experiment when the materials are free. If using a hot wire to cut Styrofoam, get proper breathing protection - not just a dust mask!

Great work. IMO, you'd use 1/2 as many magnets if you put the magnets on the bottom and played on a magnetic surface. Our local "big box" stores have dry erase boards that are also magnetic. i strip the frame off, lay down a 1" grid with heavier lines every 5" for easy counting. Just using two gives us enough room for any situation. JC Magnetics (the place I buy mine) are great, but they aren't cheap when one thinks of doing 20-40 tiles.

re: magnet trees - magnetic paint is cheaper than magnets. Paint the tile with magnetic paint, magnetic trees will stick.

re: moss - aside from being where moisture accumulates, moss also prefers less light, hence it's on the north side of trees. Apply moss as if there's directional light.

These look incredible. And the tips about the natural resources as well as the tea leaves etc were amazing, let along the static grass tip. Superb!

I always thought that premade terrain trees looked way too small, or at least too small for a big forest. They look more like they'd be at home as decorative plants in an urban setting a lot of the time

Not sure how I missed this video. This looks amazing! I did a floating island "dream sequence" battle similar to this.. Obviously I did not think of doing the island that splits apart. I do love the concept though. Very very well done..

Awesome, loving your videos - planning on applying it to wargaming as well as DnD - the water effect is incredible - I guess ideally all your tiles need to sit on a panel/support once you have created the water, otherwise they will just water-fall off?

Great video - really expanded on some of RPArchives stuff. Love the grass/dirt edging technic to make it all fit together. One question - do you no put any wooden/chipboard base on your tiles? I notice everyone else does this - not sure if its just because here in the UK 1/2 inch foam is hard to find or to stop bending.

This is so cool! This has been on my "to watch" tab for ages, but I didn't get around to it for a while; watching this, I realized that the thumbnail inspired some of my own craft projects, and now that I've actually watched the vid, I can see how to make improvements of my own. Sick creature dude

This is awesome! I've been planning a Brikwars (essentially Lego Warhammer) game in Hell for some time now and had no idea how to make a battlefield. I was planning to do something with a bunch of floating islands à la Doom 3&4 - basically something very similar to your board. Had no idea how to make something like that, but this may help ^^
