Just found this channel, I love the content and format. Can't wait to see the future of the channel and wether or not you'll ever start doing more elaborate slideshows. I'm 100% excited for when topics start ballooning the lengths of the videos and you get better at explaining things but its still all slide shows.

Yeah. First, they are never good, they are mostly low to mid tier, and they always will be due to their lack of mobility. Two, because I often play zoners, easily beating them is boring. Three, this is the most important one, they teach you. Because how easily they can turn the tide, you need to be constantly on edge, if you are sloppy at your execution, they will immidietly grab you. Whenever you drop your combo, whenever you have a gap in your pressure, whenever you went for a high risk option without proper conditioning, the big muscle men will make you kiss the concrete. And because they have such a high health pool, you need more interactions to win a round than them, you need better mental then them, to never fold, and never be caught unprepared.

I agree with the take that every archetype should at least be viable, it's good for variety and it's always a staple trait of a healthy metagame. But one thing I wish more grapplers did was break the mold of a grappler more, as somebody who loves the grappler life but hates the slow movement, it gets a little annoying seeing grapplers always be big slow characters.

Honestly I'm kinda fine w/ DR cuz parry exists. It creates a very clear rps where Parry beats dr buttons, dr throws beat parries and buttons on reaction beat dr throws. So if I were to change it I wound just give the parry a larger window (like 4 or 6 frames) but nerf it in other ways to compensate. The problem with making drive rush more reactable is that it can easily become useless due to the fact that you would be able to check every time. Give it a clear RPS (which it already has) and just tweak it a bit to make it more consistent and we're good

One Very frustrating thing is because he drive rush slide a button across the screen, any disjoints have a natural advantage. If you check it you just trade, which is dumb. As a fix you Need extended hurtbox on drive rush moves. It's super dumb that a reaction check ends up being a decision check in 17 frames. Very frustrating.

Ed is the perfect example of how dr should be. He has all the benefits of dr but his moves push him or his opponent far enough away to where you can’t really get a huge combo or even get a strike throw mix. All DRs should be like this in my opinion, it gets you close enough to apply some pressure but not close enough to make someone guess for their life or explode if they get a stray hit.
