Nowadays, Tony is away from the drum scene. No one from the most important drum chanels of KZfaq calls him. I don't know why. He has not done any clinic in recent years either.

Steve start this compilation with a Yamaha D20 from '68 or '69. I have the same, and same color... real good drum, and Steve one of the best! 😎 I'm double happy discovering this video, thanks!!

He's still playing really well, but he seems to have come down in the world. This guy was one of the greatest drummers of his generation, who played stadiums with the biggest names of the day. Now he's playing little clubs. Life is very strange.

How do you manage to compile such great performances with such deplorable sound quality? Every single clip sounds like it was recorded on a mini-cassette recorder hidden in someone’s pocket.

He's the best in my opinion, been checking him out for over a year now. And I must say that it's just something about him that sounds more appealing to my musical mind.

He’s the epitome of a drummer. Providing a groove and keeping time & not just flying around the kit.

His playing is not virtuosic technically speaking but his feel is the thing. Ya need to have "good musical ears" for the music to be a consistently outstanding and complimentary drummer. Steve's that kind of feel good player from the heart that attracts many professional musicians and fans alike. Awesomeness🥁

dave turncrantz(Russian Circles),Stan Bicknell(independent/session drummer)and Jon Theodore have easily convinced me you don't need tons double kick and blasts to be a phenomenal drummer...it's something I wish I could've grasped this realization when I was younger drummer

i will NEVER forget seeing abe perform just a couple meters before me at 2023's Got Back tour here in Brazil. a +3 hours show, with no breaks, a bunch of drum solos, and get this: with ONE HAND. i don't know how he injured himself preceding the tour, but i figure he and the rest of mccartney's band could easily find someone to sub for him, but he did it anyways.

What you are witnessing is a young man who had full support from his family and community when it came to his gift. His Dad played and supported, his Mom would bring him to any shed/jam sessions he wanted to attend. The community embraced him as a child. Beautiful outcome!!!!
