I recently sold my 404MKII because I just couldn't get into it. It was too complicated and was NOT fast to use. I just got the Blackbox and wow, it was so easy to figure out and it travels so easy. The 404 may have more effects but what good are they if you can't remember how to use then if it sits for a few weeks?

Great combo... I love the intensity and deep sounds of digitone. And torso... .I have it since it was out, and it has some features unique in its class... I also love it. Not so easy to handle with melodic lines, but for percussion is stunning. Great demo!

I've been watching your Blackbox and SP404 videos. Is there anything like the DJFX looper on the Blackbox, or can this be achieved on the touchscreen? (I mean the slowing up and down, the reverse and moving across the sample.)

Nothing like the DJFX looper on the blackbox as of its up to date firmware (v3.1.2) The only "FX" the blackbox has internally are Delay & Reverb.. Would for sure love to see 1010Music add some more FX in box in the future if its possible!

Why not make the top level the track selection and group different options for the track? I have been racking my brain trying to figure out the best way to set it up to be as universal as possible.

Would you probably know if the push feature of the encoders on the #EC4 can be overridden and setup manually? Reset the zero is very useful, but in case of the #SP404mk2 toggling the effect on or off would be a nice option, too.

Also have a look at the products of #Retrokits as the offer a little TRS-A to TRS-B dongle. Seems like a pretty straightforward solution for use with any TRS-A type of MIDI cable. Same goes for their MIDI DIN to TRS-A adapter. Pretty sure some other vendors have these kind of solutions, too. But their information should explain it all. There are some videos here on KZfaq, too. I thought it was in the connection instructions for the #RK008 and/or the #RK006 hub.

Thanks for sharing your insights, where the availability of #faderfox EC videos seems to be quite limited. Does the #EC4 allow you to map pushing the encoders, too? For instance to mute tracks or reset a parameter on the #Elektron #Syntakt.

New Sub just got Mines last week My goodness it's a Amy Swiss Knife! And coming from a MPC LIVE2 , Maschine + & SP404 Mk2 Owner the Blackbox 3.1.2 Man!! The Size and power is 👌🏽😎 as a Film and TV Foley Composer it fits right in my Studio' can't wait until the next Firmware Updare.

100% agree! For me the Elektron sequencer doest get used to its full potential with how my flow is.. and the T-1 Really allowed me to dig deeper into the LFO and parameters tweaking on the Digitone while the sequencing was being generated. Would totally grab one with the other if I get back into Elektron boxes again!

All the nitty-gritty details came through clearly, i feel like i just took an EC4/404mk2 course lol Super excited to start laying out one of these controllers myself. I'm looking to map it to my Dirtywave M8 and SP chain and it should work great based on this

I've been hopping that someone on youtube would explore the possibilities of this combo. I never thought about sequencing the fxs but I always wanted to have access to both bus fxs at the same time without having to switch. Unfortunately, I suck at midi so I never attempted it until now. The faderfox tutorial was also very helpful and made me realize how easy it has been all this time . Thanks!

@@minusro maybe, but also a sequenceable one… and that’s probably how I would use it, sequenced. Wondering if an additional controller like the #Faderfox #UC4 or #EC4 can be used to select another pattern, or (re)trigger or control the play/stop/stepping of the currently playing pattern of the #Digitakt, too?

Yeah man! Sort of a bummer.. I didn't show it in this video, but I've been trying to figure some work arounds. One thing I will say though, Is i've been sort of "handicapping" my instruments recently in order for me to explore them with limitations so I can better figure them out and in this case, getting me to dive deeper into the Digitakt as a Sequencer and Midi Brain, Which is definitely creating a deeper connection to it than previously when I would look at it and only grab it when I wanted to make some drum patterns. I can now look for it when I want to do some crazy, explorative FX sequencing/ Mangling when paired with the 404MK2@@stathissideris
