Cool! Couldn’t really see where the cables hooked to land. Is this a 24 hour a day ferry ? What was the charge to ride ? Thank you. Neat video

Way back in the 1980s I drove down there on two separate occasions just to see that ferry. I didn’t take it across the Green River though. I was in the area for Mammoth Cave and the tours. You’ve almost made me feel like I took the ferry ride! That’s pretty cool.

Thanks! It’s a fun little ride! The person who organized the day excursions surprised us all with this. None of knew it even existed until we got to it.

Very nice! Great video. Y'all did stuff I haven't done there, but there IS a way to the base of the Lower Falls. IDK if they've ever constructed an official trail to the bottom, but I've been to the base two or three times. It has been too long. I should go back.
@wildembers9715

I plan to hike up the creek to the base this summer when the waters are lower. We attempted that last fall, but we started too late in the day and had to turn around about 3/4 of a mile on the creekbed because it was too dark. Is that what you did?

I guess that’s why they’re just out in the elements without protection. It seems like this would have gates around it and charge admission In order to preserve them from damage. But if they’re all over, that wouldn’t be such a big deal.

I once watched a rabbit back up to a large maple tree to ride out a pretty severe thunderstorm. It sat on the opposite side away from the wind. I thought that was pretty neat. When the storm was gone the rabbit went back to doing what rabbits do, hopping around and munching on plants.

Ice has a beauty all its own. You just showed us that... From the long pointy lines of icicles hanging from the ledges to the to the random patterns of water, freezing soon after falling from above. They're all gorgeous. Sometimes I wonder how the trains fit through those cuts! There couldn't have been much room to spare. I live pretty close to the road leading to the O&W Bridge. Sometimes I drive there just to stand on the bridge watch and listen to the river rushing underneath. A very soothing experience for the heart and soul!

Big South Fork will never, ever disappoint Wild Embers... and neither do you! You capture the most detailed shots that can be imagined. The details and colors in the ceiling of Devils Cave are proof of that. There are many more examples in this video but I rest my case based on this one... The rutted trails up there are horse trails and are a mess any time of the year. Those homemade signs bring some extra character to the area don't they? You guys got the brilliant blue winter sky! I relish that sky when I get out in the winter. Usually it's gloomy when I get out this time of the year... Really nice video Wild Embers! Just like Big South Fork, they never disappoint!
