Some of these cars are not stock. Never seen a 13.3 Rambler ever, and it was never a Muscle car ever

I saw Ken try to jump 2 school buses end to end with a pickup at the Kingston Speedway. Remember he went through the roof of bus #2 and it took a while to get him outta there 😂

Those Buick 455 Engines were amazing- pulling a heavy car that fast they had to have been near 500hp - the L88 427 was also a beast in the light corvette they must have been down right scary on the street- god i wud love to drive one

It was a product endorsed by Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius, in the Acme catalog. Maybe that's why it didn't work??

It looks like something Wile E. Coyote put together from the Acme catalog. Might consider something stronger than Scotch Tape and Elmer's Glue to hold the wings on next time.

Some good memories there! The black Mustang GT in the first portion is probably Dave H from Charlotte. It ran well and is still owned by Dave. The black LX Mustang you spoke about is Dave P from Charlotte. It eventually ran into the high 10s on just motor. Good running car. Not sure if he still owns it. Nice footage.

I keep seeing this video because my mates wont believe me when I tell them. Seeing it today, it is pretty amazing how he managed to hold the car to the edge of the ramp. Then he was lucky as hell because the debris from the car damaged one of the chutes. Lucky one was undamaged, but he did not get altitude enough (oh, really?) and got quite a shock when landing...

Love racing stock. Because I never had any money to waist. But the Grand Prix was my favorite car in 1979-84.

My brother had a 70-1/2 Camaro built 350 2.02 heads isky cam. Only needed lower gear but his time was 14.5 seconds. He never wanted to race my Grand Prix I never knew I could smoke him. Stock.

Hey I can’t believe they are racing in a 69 Pontiac Grand Prix. I beat everyone with my old 400 four barrel carburetor. Had to adjust the points and timing every couple weeks to floor it without no hesitation. I beat the Camaros and the rest of the cars. Only car beat me bad was 442 Oldsmobile that car left me in the dust.

Please get your facts right! Yes it was Ken Powers in the car. But it was Ken Carters car, Ken Carters ramp, jump, setup, financing. It was all Ken Carter! Ken Powers did the junp while Ken Carter was doing promotional work for the stunt at the time!!!! Watch the full documentary.

Truth be told muscle cars from 53 -72 had more power than the tires and suspension could handle. On the street alot of brutal cars either went up in smoke or the driver was not able to handle the horses. Myself embarrassed alot brutal street machines with a small block car with a 2barrel carb single exhaust. My shop teacher was a professional drag racer and he helped me set my sleeper up. They always demand I show them the motor. They couldn't believe a stock small block was that fast. With that said most muscle cars of past were close in power and preformance on the street. The one's who dominated were the ones who really understand drag racing. Although I have to admit the GS Buicks and ram air Pontiacs dissapointed alot of bad ass cars.

People keep saying “Stock”, but they were around 11:1 compression with more camshaft and of course the giant intake ports of the 4V Cleveland heads. In 1982 I had a ‘62 Ranchero with a 289/C4 11:1, Fireball hydraulic cam, factory heads, factory distributor, dual plain intake, Holley 650 DP and it ran 11.80’s @3300’ above sea level.....
