This was a pretty well produced video. The script had some interesting interpretations of johns work. When youre part of a community, youre representing that group to everyone who experiences that community through youre work. And youve put us in a pretty good light

Books are heavily censored in prisoners - what does the org do when someone requests a book that is banned?

They follow rules when it comes to formats, like “no hardbacks,” but not when it comes to subject matter. So if prisons say “no Black Power books,” for example, they will ignore that rule

mr roger's intent with his original lyrics were never to dismiss trans people (who weren't even in the public's eye yet!). kids were concerned that their body's would change in ways they didn't like as they grew older and sometimes that included unwanted gender changes. he even talks about it on "the tonight show": "...because sometimes children think that they might change, that they might have to change after a while." but trans kids aren't afraid or concerned that their body's sex characteristics might switch, they're concerned they won't switch, which is why there are treatments to make that transition happen. transgirls are a kind of girl, and transboys are a kind of boy, so the original lyrics still affirm trans people. girls (trans or cis) are girls from the beginning, boys (trans or cis) are boys right from the start.

I agree. I've actually written a whole video script based on what Mister Rogers said in that Tonight Show clip! But I made this video 4 years, ago when trans people were not so much at the center of the right-wing culture war, and before people started arguing online about Mister Rogers' views on gender. The point of the video was to sing this great song about bodily integrity, and I didn't want to distract from that with the verse on gender that I felt could be misconstrued, because, again, people weren't talking about it at the time.

I love that show Arthur, I think restorative justice sounds like a cool idea to me. If I were the president of the US, I would make it the official way to discipline juvenile delinquents depending on what crime it is because I don’t know what you do if the juveniles commit murder when it comes to restorative justice, it might not work in some cases. So I would have to think about that too.

Who are you people!? See my comment on Jim Shelton. Why are so many people commenting this exact same message on a video I made three years ago? Do you go through every single song that mentions gender to make sure they conform to your point of view? That's weird!

Great video!! Was so happy to vote for it. I’m a public library associate and I learned about programs like this one after doing research in response to a letter we got from someone detained at the local detention center. I was a proponent of intellectual freedom in prisons already, but my empathy has deepened from exchanging letters with a person that loves books (and learning) but has limited access to them

Amazing video, it’s genuinely impressive how well you managed to balance KZfaq comedy and literary conversation. BDG’s degree is in creative writing, I wonder if he thinks about how strange his videos are in this context. Btw if you haven’t heard of innuendostudios, his content seems pretty adjacent to yours. This is a similar analysis to yours that he did for a video game called the beginners guide: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/arRmrJl9qt3Xe5c.html Edit: similar is a kinda loose term, just noticed applications of the same literary concepts at points

@@whatsbehindthesky none of they proved anything. Voting machines can be hacked. Ask any tech person. Voted handled by third parties are open to tampering. You don't know what vote harvesters.
