On a PCP, it matters little whether you use dovetail or weaver, but on powerful breakbarrels, I'm pretty sure a scope stays in place on weaver - and it certainly does not on dovetail. Even with an added stop block, the scope on my Gamo Replay-10 Magnum IGT worked its way backward, the stop block's pin "cutting" through the receiver like a very dull knife. Why on a PCP, then? For compatibility with new breakbarrels. The days of the dovetail are gone.

Nearly all of these made for the right hand , difficult to shoot from the left. When I served as a soldier I used to vomit on the ranges getting a shell case in the face and a mouthful of cordite.😀

Those prices are steep 200 quid for a second hand bsa which you can pick up for less than 100 you'll probably find a brand new one for around that price my fully automatic crossman was only in the 300s brand new

The rifle arrived today and I dialed in the scope just a couple hours ago kzfaq.infoUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL . I haven’t shot with a scope in probably 25 years. The X on the left was my target. (the shot almost in the bullseye on the right X was my father in laws first shot after I made adjustments) The two shots circled are my first 2 shots. Then I brought it down - shot once. Then brought it over to the left. From there zeroed it in to dead center. This all was from 25 yards out. Follow instructions carefully when mounting the scope. So far I'm very happy with the purchase.

I thought the .25 calibre rifles came out from 1937 onwards? Yet this is a 34? Also any chance you know if they made any chrome/silver looking ones as my serial number is s7510 and doesn’t appear to show any bluing on the rifle anywhere? Many thanks if you see this and for a reply.

I would agree with your assessment of these guns 100% . I have the bsa r10 in black pepper laminate after installing a best fittings larger carbon tank and huma regulator I would say that it is without my best gun for shot count and accuracy etc. I also have the Weilrauch hw 110 in grey laminate which is also a fantastic gun it’s not my best but comes very close straight out of the box. Offering unbelievable accuracy, it’s much lighter to carry around but my drawback is the shot count . I would ague to say that Weilrauch engineering leaves all others way behind maybe it’s their quality control which in my opinion is second to none
