I love the Walter Payton yards stat in there. He only played 13 years to Jerry Rice’s 20.

So bonus gets a special Tax of 40% the other ten probably went to his money manager and agent. He should only pay 35% on the rest.

He in my mind is without a doubt a HOF. I’m bias because I’m a patriots fan but he had to fill the shoes of Wes Welker. He surpassed Wes Welker in every aspect.

Yeah, that brother was fearless as hell. He was Wes Welker without the big game gitters. Loved Wes, but he couldn't handle big game pressure.

To succeed at anything sacrifices have to be made. Sadly there is a salary cap in the NFL, so if you want to win, you can't squeeze every dollar you can... if that's the plan play soccer and join effing Man City.😅

yall can talk all that “be a good teammate” shit and there’s truth to it but the bottom line is that economics has everything to do with what he’s saying, nothing more. in 2000, NFL salary cap was $62M, FOR THE TEAM. in 2022, it was $208M. that’s a 335% increase over the course of his career. he made more money on the back half of his career because he was a sixth round pick on a shit rookie deal to start and the cap was low af compared to today’s standards. in 2000, Drew Bledsoe was the highest paid QB at $8.5M. for perspective, Anthony Richardson on a rookie deal makes that, Trey Lance and Zach Wilson make that, on the bench. 29 QBs make at least that. point is, the market changed and so did the salaries. taking less was still more than when he started🤷🏾‍♂️

TB12 is the greatest football player of all time and a unique specimen. He didn't go for the most money, got his rings and now gets to make over $30mm/year broadcasting. Hall of Famer Chipper Jones was similar to him and even requested that his contract be restructured one time so that the Braves could sign more talent. Players today only think about themselves.

Longevity was his end game and he sure as hell had it. If 33% of these players now or that upcoming (draft) have that mentality, it will take them far. Sure, how you manage your money also matters but TB12 was meant for Tom to keep him and his age ahead. Now that he has that track record jobs look for him, instead of him looking for a job.

Its different now, compared to when Tom was in his prime. I think the evolution of sport agencies has to do with it. Nowdays, you got entitled bucks who think they deserve more, meanwhile you got hungry agents who is trying to milk their clients to the max.
