probably not. I feel like with the FSD updates that are coming, I won't be making videos that much longer. The purpose of my channel was to record the progress of FSD in my experience in the Phoenix area. I honestly never expected people to watch my videos, but maybe just fast foward through them to maybe see where interventions are. The drives for me are boring as well, and I often use my airpods to listen to things while I am supervising FSD on my drives. I fly for fun and have a private pilots license but I'm also studying to get an instrument rating, so that's another factor. I listen to study materials on my airpods. So for all of those reasons, I feel like I will be recording videos for a few more months, but hopefully FSD will roll out Unsupervised and the updates will get FSD to be exceptional and I won't have a reason to record anymore.

I drive a 2018 Tesla M3 & have had Enhanced Auto Pilot since it came out. It has driven me from on ramp to off ramp. On I95 in Florida many times from Melbourne to I295 Orange Park exit & back with very few interventions. Most were me wanting to Changes lanes or smal route changes to eat, before way points. I also have FSD 12.3.6 but that software is switched to the old sw stack once FSD takes an on ramp & switches back to FSD after the off ramp. 12.4 is supposed to include FSD all hi-ways.

Why did it move to the far left lane with faster traffic on the right?
@Phenix9-TM3
@Phenix9-TM3 12 күн бұрын
It didn't. at 4:06, you see me override FSD to get into the HOV lane, which is a resticted lane in AZ. The speed limit on this highway is 65 MPH and people go between 75-85MPH or faster. I don't like to go much faster than 80MPH because there are a ton of tiny rocks that will fly up and hit/chip/crack the windshield. I do typically move right if I have faster traffic approach me in the HOV lane, but most of the time they choose to go around before I have an opportunity to move over. But no, FSD didn't move to the far left lane, that was me.

it's actually gotten very good at these unprotected left turns. The cameras can see pretty far in both directions, the inference computer can calculate timing, and sometimes when it is too hesitant, I give it a little tap on the accelerator and let go so that it starts rolling and it will still do the turn by itself (in a place I would have gone but it was being too cautious on its own).

most of the disengagements were on the freeway. FSD/autopilot won't change lanes over the solid white HOV lane marking, even though that is standard in AZ and you can cross the solid white line in that case. The other times that were non-HOV lane related were due to FSD taking a long time to change lanes. I don't like to have my turn signal on and then have FSD wait an abnormal amount of time to change lanes. Remember, this video is sped up, so the time spent with the turn signal on is not intuitive. In real time, it felt like a long time. It also might have to do with the window of opportunity and the gap in traffic - can't remember. But if it waits too long to change lanes, sometimes the gap closes and it can't change lanes.

well I'm pretty sure the highway stack is still FSD v11, so as far as I know, it IS FSD. I know it's not a single stack, but to me that doesn't mean it still doesn't get updates. I could be wrong - idk. But v12.5 in a month or two (Elon time) will combine everything into one FSD stack.

I never had any of the other versions but this 12.3.6 FREE 30 day trial. It is not bad for getting me to my short destinations that I do, but it has some problems I do not like. I don't like how it accelerates from stop signs, etc. It seems to hesitate in certain shadows going through my neighborhood, and turning at intersections seem to robotic and crude - also does hesitations. Well what you are showing are just expressways, I can do those with Auto Pilot. Show going through towns and neighborhood streets. That is where FSD becomes more critical in what is does. My free trial is complete on June 9th. Right now, don't see subscribing to FSD.
@Phenix9-TM3
@Phenix9-TM3 27 күн бұрын
I think Tesla should have waited until 12.4 to do the 30 day free trial :( V12.5 integrates the highway stack. I've been using FSD since it was first available, and this is at least my 9th version of the software (that's how far back my videos go, but I was using FSD before I started recording videos). It has come a long way and it feels like a human driving most of the time compared to many versions before. It is not perfect yet, but I think we are getting there. Thanks for your feedback. I do have videos going through city streets - it's just that the majority of the time, my commute takes me on the freeways for most of my drives.

@Phenix9-TM3
@Phenix9-TM3 27 күн бұрын
I don't think I've really ever had that but there is an area in one place near where I live. It is not a soft shoulder, but there is something that looks like a turn lane and it is XX'd out and you're not supposed to drive in that area, but people get over into that area all the time to turn right. FSD has done it in the past in previous versions - actually it has gotten better about NOT going in that area on recent versions. I've never had it drive on a soft shoulder, but maybe it could be that the road markings are lacking where you are talking about? IDK...

I usually do not have time to hand wash it. the car gets just as clean this way and I've never had any issues. I have PPF on the front end and I do not go to the car washes that have brushes. The high water pressure spray gets all of the crap off of the car, so no need to wipe it off and scratch the paint. Sometimes I get water spots after drying, but I go home and clean that up with a little bit of Speed Shine quick detailer and the car looks really good.

It is not illegal in AZ to cross the solid white line for the HOV lane because the white line means it is a restricted lane and has no breaks in it for the whole freeway. If you are allowed to drive in the lane, you are allowed to cross the solid white line at any time.

@Phenix9-TM3 Ай бұрын
I don't know if you're talking about 2:16 or 27:48, but the answer is really the same, which is to get into or out of the HOV lane. FSD rarely will cross the solid white lane line for the HOV lane, which is legal to do in AZ. At the beginning 2:16 and on, I disengaged because I don't like waiting 4 miles to get over to that lane, which FSD will do. I like to just cut right over and get in the lane, so I usually disengage to make that happen quickly.

if you mean at 1:00, then you're wrong because the car had already entered the intersection before the light turned red. In AZ, you're required to finish your turn if you're in the intersection, granted that you are also not supposed to enter the intersection if you can't complete your turn without stopping - so that is a peeve of mine that people (and FSD) do, but it definitely did NOT run a red light.
