Good information! I’ve been using a Ski helmet in the winter, lightweight compared to a motorcycle helmet and a bit more heavier than using a cyclist helmet.

I wear gloves under my wrist guards as well. Had to modify the wrist guard straps to fit. Mirror, I fitted a cycle mirror to my helmet - the mirror (4"in dia) I use is intended for the end of the handles bars of a cycle, but is modified easily. Always the same boots to protect my ankles. I've taken to using a tether on my Begode Master - principly to topple the wheel. Very hilly in Cornwall with these steep gradients the idea of the thing running off by itself after a fall is the stuff of nightmares. As to practice absolutely - gradients particular down gradients with tight turns and seated riding really must make the effort to learn that. And emergency stops/hard deaccelerations.

I am wearing the knox hollister armored shirt. That I wear on my motorcycle. It's super comfortable and breathable with a AAA rating. I would recommend wearing a rated motorcycle helmet. And I have bad knees so a leatt c frame offer really good support and protection. I have a LS2 helmet has internal visor and peak. Very budget friendly while still offering protection. not to heavy.

@@markpavlowski7223 Okay, my mistake. I think these companies Triumph and RE need to build a cruiser. Both the 450 and 400 has enough power/torque to pull 2 up and a little luggage. I have a 350 Meteor, a great bike, but 20hp isn't enough for touring.

They all have the same vavle layout the only thing that might be a problem is that there is not enough clearance between the valve and the wheels body shell. But most of the big wheels has loads of clearance.

Looking at a few right now, the 850 sport and the tiger rally's. Not really sure I need the Rally b/c although I go off road, I don't do heavy off roading due the weight of the bikes. But, I do like the Rally's and there are some good deals to be had now. I saw the 850 while at the dealer and I liked the good ride height and liter weight. Not sure at the moment, will have to take some test rides, but the 850 sport is tempting. Good review!
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 8 күн бұрын
This is what I was thinking too as I did the test ride on the 850 Sport and they had this one on a really good deal. I must say the Sport was for me a better deal if I think about it as the GT Pro has loads of extras that is nice to have but very rarely used by me. I also liked the Sports exhaust note, it was a bit different to the GT Pro for some reason. You can also add bits that you really need on the Sport like heated grips for me. The only reason I went with the GT Pro was because of the deal as it was the last one they wanted to get rid of but otherwise I would have gone with the Sport as my first choice. Hope this helps and good luck

@@Andre-Mostert Thanks for the feedback! The 850 does have a different tune (mapping), so maybe that's why it sounds a bit different. Due to the weight and height, I am leaning more towards the 850 and it will do the lite off roading that I do. I had a KLR650 and never took it on anything more than gravel roads and trails, as it too was about 465lbs and too much to enjoy in the heavy bush. Take care n be careful on the roadway!

Thank you for the review. I too own a Scrambler 400X, and have done my first 1,000 Km on it now. I love it. One thing I noticed though, is that at low speeds - anything below 40 Km/hr - the motorcycle exhibits some jerkiness. It doesn't matter which gear I am on. And this happens on perfectly flat, smooth road surfaces while keeping a steady throttle. It does not go smoothly, but rather continuous back-and-forth jerking, and the slower you go, the more noticeable it is. Is this normal? I am looking for feedback from people who own the bike. Is this a normal single-cylinder behavior, or is there something wrong with my bike? Thank you.
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 11 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I have not found this on mine at all. I do get some but this is only when I open and close the throttle in a not smooth fashion. It might be worth to check that they installed the latest software/firmware on the bike as I have heard on some version this helps. But I can say I do not feel this at all. If you keep the throttle smooth its smooth. This can also be that you are in too a low gear for the revs but it sounds like you know how to ride a bike. I am sit at 25-30mph in 4th with out any jerkyness. Hope this helps.

Nice bit of Kit. been looking for something like this for the road bicycle. With a button on the hoods, but this is better as the button is always by your thumb.. I recon if I mount it under the saddle I may even go faster when I activate it. ;-) Great video too, I would probably not mount it so close to the wheel as I recon the road dirt / grime will eventually eat it up.. Maybe less so on trails without salt.. Take care buddy.

The model 3 has been good. They are pretty solid. My one was one of the early ones from USA and the paint was not that great. But it was all sorted under warranty. If you can try and get a version for the chrome delete I think this is 2019-2020 when they did this. But all depends one where you are based as it might be different in the US or EU. Its a great car and the white seats my wife loved as they are easy to maintain and looks great. I have sold mine and moved to a Model Y but this is only because I like changing my cars. I am also not looking again at a 2020 model 3 as its such a great all round car. The key is the sceeen/software and the charging infrastructure. Hope this helps and good luck

They should be able to as its ride by wire but then enough people needs to complain before they are doing to do something. I must say the bike does settle in after the 600 miles and the slow speed riding is smoother. You must also check with the dealer at the 600 mile service to make sure you are on the lastest firmware. I did find that riding a bike with such a short first gear took some getting use too but now its all second nature. Enjoy the bike.

I am getting 225 miles per tank so far, about 63 mpg at only 400 miles so far. Will ride Friday- Monday this weekend to hit 600 for my appointment next Thursday for first service. So far it's been amazing, but then, this is my first bike. Other thoughts, foot pegs are too small for my feet, will look for bigger ones as I am size 11 US or 43 Euro. Suspension has been great, no bottoming out. First gear is too low, have a 15T ordered, waiting delivery from UK, I am in New Mexico. I think the exhaust sounds great, as does my lady. Plan on getting a small windscreen from dart to help with wind on the highway, very tiring. The rear brake is weak AF. tried to skid o gravel, NOPE! Yes, I was in off road mode. Tires aren't great on gravel, get a lot of rocks stuck in the tread and in the (very low clearance) fender! UGH! Very much enjoying this bike otherwise...

So from someone that's put over 5k miles on his 400x I ran my Karoo streets at the listed pressures, 1.8 on the front 2.3 on the rear, interestingly when I picked the bike up both front and rear were at 2.3 bar, this made the front feel quite punchy through the bars, I did change out the Karoo's at 4.5k for a set of Dunlop Raids, for more off-road grip, much better on the trails but it does take away some of the brilliant road holding of the stock tyres, Dunlop have advised me that I can run the Raids at+ - 7psi on the rear and+ - 5psi on the front. The more aggressive tyres are a little more noisy but not unobtrusively and will no doubt drag the mileage per gallon down, but I'm almost at 200 miles range even with a little bit of offroading thrown in, and I'd swap out the levers for 3 finger and replace the handguards for ally reinforced for when its inevitably dropped.

I bought my 400x about a month ago (mid June 2024) I have put the first 500 miles on it and it is a super fun bike to ride. If I had one complaint about it it is the 1st gear. Starting from a stop, you have to shift into second just after letting the clutch all the way out, this may be useful for off road but I have not done a bunch of that yet. Also going from first to second gear, I accidently land in neutral more often than I care to admit but I hope it is more me than the way the bike is set up. Other than this it is a great bike, fun to ride, looks good and feels great on the road. Enjoyed your review, keep safe out there scrambler friend.

@Andre-Mostert 28 күн бұрын
Great and glad you are liking the bike. You might just need to adjust the shift leaver on setting up so you get more movement from 1st to second. On the short 1st gear.. the guys use the Speed 400's gear on the front and replace it with the one on the 400X and this sorts out the short 1st gear. But I agree if you not going to be doing much super slow riding then changing that front sprocket might be the way to go. Thanks for the feedback and enjoy getting the first service out the way.

Second gear for the win. With a lighter bike it makes the second gear start much easier.

我必須說這是悲傷的。我們只能希望 KZfaq 能解決這個問題。很棒的輪子,騎起來就像夢一樣。您只需要確保您不是在尋求大範圍的騎行,並且您不是一個太重的騎手。感謝您的評論。

Actually quite informative. I am going to ask e very insignificant question, 😃but do you have any protection on your tank, to stop from scratches? I have the same and just had ny 1st 1000k service
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert Ай бұрын
This is a good questions, I do not. I must say I very rarely lean over and my jacket does not have any zips that can scratch it. But there is a tank pad that you can fit direct from the website but I am going to hold off for now. What some guys do and I would think this works the best is to get a 3M tank wrap that is like PPF coating on the tank then you are covered for any scratches. But the matt paint does look like it will show marks easier than the shiny black or red. Thanks for the comment.

Use the tire pressure the tire says, not the manual , of course they are one and the same with the stock tire. If you had tubed tires you could use less pressure off road but for tubeless you are stuck with the same as used for on road, you'll ruin the tire otherwise.

Any comment on vibrations? My mirrors are vibrating at about 8000 rpm, but it´s not an issue that i feel in my hands at all. BTW others have reported that riding with a pillion is very good also for a grown up. Nice comments through out - I also have the issue with the front brake, and I don´t even have a disc lock. I agree, that delivery of spare parts is a problem, I ordered a top box with the bike and don´t know when I can get it... Done 4000 km on my 400x since end of March.

Yes agree I actually forgot to add in that note. Up to 75mph I can see find in the mirrors but anything over that its a blur. But I do not get any vibrations via the pegs or handlebars so that is good. I think the little fly screen would also help a bit with wind blast on the motorway but then again its all on how you going to be riding the bike. Yes I had the feedback earlier in the week that they can reuse the old nuts for the disc so the bike is now booked in for the 3rd Aug. I am a bit concerned about the slow spares and parts we have to wait for. Usually they are very good with having it all ready. It almost feels to me that they did not think its going to be such a big seller and was cought off guard with the whole indian market and then the rest of the world. Hope you get the top box sorted this is on my list too.

I like your videos on the Scrambler, i found your channel just as i ordered my Black Scrambler in April. I picked up my bike two weeks ago and have now clocked 250 odd miles on it, really liking this bike it's great on the back roads as well around here in Somerset. I have fitted the Triumph mudguard extension, the Powerbronze mud deflector and a Speedo Angels screen protector. I have ridden several late nights and have found that the lights do illuminate the road but i find the main beam a little dim compared to my Gold Stars halogen bulb, one thing i did notice was the speedo needle illuminates in the dark just like on my old Street Twin. keep it up.

Awesome thanks for the feedback. Glad you are liking the bike. Its just a great easy going bike and triumph do get this right with so many of their bikes. I have seen a few guys do a total black out with the black tank one and it really looks very nice, that is if you into stuff like that. Enjoy the bike and hope you smash out the miles to get to the first service. Then the you dont have to worry anymore keeping it under the 8k rpm. Keep well and now we just need to hope it stops raining lol

Great video, what Nm torque is it?

I just had a look and the 250W motor from Bafang kicks out 80Nm of torque. Pretty good for this bike as its not super heavy. Great ride for the price.

Pretty interesting setup. The one that I had was testing was the earlier earlier builds with the gocart chain drive on the one side and the normal cycle chain on the other side. The nice thing is if the battery runs out there is next to no drag on the normal chain drive. The only thing that put me off a bit was the gocart chain was loud and the guys at bike parks will give you trouble for running a high powered bike. But the newer versions all come with a carbon belt drive that is super quiet and its also easy to maintain. I am looking to test one again as its a pretty epic bike for the price. A few notes to look out for is spares and warranty as its a smaller brand. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment.

This wheel getting lots of good praise but i think it falls short. No BMS, spings and power not good enough for 200lb + riders unless you're just doing light trail riding like in this video. I was thinking of getting it for slow technical trail riding but i wont purchase purchase another wheel without a active BMS. Love your riding area👍
@Andre-Mostert

All good points and I do agree that its not really for the heavier and rougher trails but I come in at 75kg - 165lbs and most of my trails are narrow and parts technical where this wheel with the off road tyre would make a great second wheel to my S22. Also at this price its pretty good. I also very rarely go past 30 mph so riding it between 22 and 28mph should make for a great little light fun wheel. But yes I need to check out the springs. Thanks for watching and the feedback.

I had the surron light bee and its a great bike but you cannot get away that its more an motorbike than an ebike. This bike I can go and ride on MTB trails without guys giving me trouble but then when monday comes I can get to work and back at a good pace. The new version has the uprated belt drive and this is even better. Way more quiet.

no problem, its a BMX track or a cycle track that is built that you only use momentum to go around the track. You get this for skateboards too.
