Totally did not follow you dude. I've got an iX14 also so no problem there but where you lose me is this business of flying the plane and changing the trim in different configurations. How do you know what to set things to when you get on the ground? That doesn't make any sense at all to me. What are you going to do, look down at the transmitter while you're flying and try to remember what all the trims are? That's not going to work very well.

It doesn’t work like that the trims will change from mode to mode how ever you have them trimmed to how you fly 😉

@@Tanker831 We must be talking on different wavelengths here. What I'm saying is how do you know where to set the trims in your flight mode setting. Are you supposed to trim for a mode, keep it there and land and then put those into your flight mode setting? How else can you know what to set the mode to? You can't be flying along, trimming for each mode and try to remember how many clicks it took for each mode!!!!

@@douglindauer7327 easiest way to put it is like this say flight mode 1 is safe …….. you trim it to fly straight and level but when u go to Fmode 2 / as3x and the plane noses up or down u trim it to fly level or maybe you want a lil nose up for landings . You trim it for that and that trim is set just for Fmode 2 so each Fmode has its own trim setting

@@Tanker831 I did not know that. Seems strange to me but ok. I use the Flex Aura stabilizer in my jets so I'll have to see how that idea will work with that gyro. You normally have the Aura store the trims so you can reset your trims to zero on the tx. But there may be something like what you do for flight modes in the Aura. I'm not sure I see the need for it though. When taking off or landing you just move the sticks to compensate for wind so you have to move the sticks anyway even if the plane is trimmed out for flaps and gear. So I don't know if I'll ever notice anything different. When you fly these $400 - $500 cheap EDF's the flight surfaces aren't that precise. There's slop in the servos and clevises and even the hinges and I don't see a way to improve that much. I just live with it and fly the way the plane makes me fly. So finessing the flight modes may not make much difference. But I'll rewatch the video and give it a try. Can't hurt. :)

Good video! One issue with the tutorial is the switch assignment. You want to choose Flight Mode,not the actual Switch...

Yep, Ive been preaching this for years to people, funny how they like to guess on the ground and fly, then land and guess some more, and fly, and never have a perfectly tuned aircraft.
