Can water get into the boot through the mesh?

Hey Jonathon, Water can absolutely get through the mesh. However, on the boots you can see the mesh starts pretty high so you'd have to be quite high in water for it to get in. Thanks for watching!

Is the surface leather synthetic or animal? Otherwise, thanks to Hoka for solving the pain in my feet on long treks.

The surface is Nubuck leather, the synthetic material is weaved in throughout the tongue and laces parts of the boots

Hi. It seems you have the previous version, the new version is not leather, it is PU which then to crack.

Yes! My version is from 2020. PU does tend to crack more.

Last winter the New Balance more 4 was my favorite Florida dry mud trail shoe. Always like to here about favorite shoes or boots from people who use them. Love your shoe reviews maybe a 6 month update or even a 2 or 3 year update on great boots or shoes.

In the summer I head north and have tried everything from stiff European hunting and hiking boots to Lems , but for most days Altra to crocs. .

Merrell is a brand that i want to rate 7 or 8, but i will confess to grabbing them quit often and my feet are comfy for a few hours or all day.

Hoka shoes or boots are always just a little to tight for me.

They can be, I am reviewing the Anacapa right now and they actually are a little tighter than the Kaha (Kaha are more plush). I find the Kaha to have a good amount of space compared to most boots. Thanks for watching and your feedback!

Hey Paul, thanks for listening. I have not personally run into that problem. I would suggest sticking to the bigger brands names like REI/Backcountry or even purchasing them directly from Hoka. Thanks!
