I think it turned out really well. Most people won't be spending much time looking at that sleeve, so I think it's fine. This reference really called out to you, and wouldn't let go. Did you color pick by eye or from the original image?
@ryanpeachturner_art7 күн бұрын
Thank you! And I was kinda thinking the same thing about the sleeve. I color pick everything by eye. Its great practice for color matching

Beautiful digital painting, you really made it look traditional!! I love the way you interpreted the shapes/textures and colors of the ref, it really pops. That was a cute illustration! Its a bit of a tangent, but personally i love doing things unconventionally sometimes to get some texture in there. adds character! Its because of a quote that keeps coming back to me from a book called "a praise of shadows". The quote is; "I do prefer a pensive luster over a shallow brilliance, a murky light that, whether in a stone or an artifact, bespeaks a sheen of antiquity".
@ryanpeachturner_art29 күн бұрын
Thats a really good quote! It captures perfectly how I feel about art lately. I think art with a little bit of roughness feels so much more beautiful. Thank you 🙏🏻

The dedication, patience and hard work you put into this is so inspiring! And the illustrations look incredible! Also I think you should definitely work on your thumbnails more (do research) or hire a thumbnail designer, because your videos are great. Both the storytelling and the value you offer are really good, it's just the clickability that's rough. I think the thumbnails aren't bad, but they're not quite the best either. It also looks like most thumbnails are just screenshots from a video, which make them a bit less high quality. And like you can see from your own statistics, some videos do better than others. I think you could easily get a couple 10-100k views, I truly believe that. It's just in the first impression from a viewers standpoint, the video might not stand out as much within other videos. Best of luck to you Ryan!
@ryanpeachturner_artАй бұрын
I appreciate your feedback and I totally agree! Thumbnails (marketing in general) is a pretty big weakness for me at the moment. I am trying to do more research though and spend more time on thumbnails, specifically for videos like this one. KZfaq did also release an a/b testing feature which I’ve been playing around with. I think its just going to take time and a lot of patience before I really understand what gets clicks. Might be worth hiring a thumbnail designer though 😅
@rainakreegerАй бұрын
@@ryanpeachturner_art Yeah it's understandable. Posting on KZfaq requires a lot different skillsets. If you're thinking of hiring, maybe I can help? I have experience with making thumbnails for others and also graphic design. I have a couple ideas on which direction your thumbnails could go. I could make a thumbnail for one of your existing videos or your next video, completely for free and if you're happy, we could work together from there on. If you're down, I could send you a vision board of some of those ideas 😄 I really think you have something special, that is yet to be discovered by bigger audiences and I really want to help you succeed as a creator on this platform. So let me know, if you want to collaborate in this sense!
@ryanpeachturner_artАй бұрын
That would be awesome! But honestly I don’t know if I can justify hiring anyone at the moment. My channels not even monetized. I do want to do this full time eventually, and I think hiring someone to help would be really beneficial. Maybe we can talk about things more out of the comments. Could you shoot me a dm on instagram?

@ryanpeachturner_artАй бұрын
@@jennielyra3694 yeah I feel like often it is the program thats the hardest part haha. I think as creators we know we can make any project as long as we take small bites, but algorithms and programs are always a lil tricky. I hope the comic is going well!!
