Wouldn't it have been better without the music in the background? Voicing is not this simple. You have to take into consideration resistance, volume, and regularity among all the jacks. Frankly, the sound of the "finished" jack tongue sounded rather harsh even with the sonata playing.

Wonderful to see the process done to my instrument being performed at the shop. I remember doing my delrin jacks similarly back in '71!

I am strongly interested in Troubadour kit. It seems affordable and easy to make since I am amateur woodworker with quite a woodworking shop. Please tell me why the bass seems to be weak compared to full size harpsichords? Or is it only recording? Does the size of the soundboard matters that much? What element affects lower tones the most?

I like the glimpse you get of the workshop: the cupboard full of spools of wire, the drill press, the work table with a keyboard on it...

I built one of these many, many years ago, (back in 1978). Almost the same color also. Thanks for sharing, brings back memories. I sold it through HCH, back in 1992. I wonder what ever happened to it.....

Great video! Can you share the distances that your string length measuring stick uses so others can create their own? And do you have a similar set of measurements that apply to tapered pins?
