I’m now on my second playthrough. I’m kinda married to the strategy of no cheap diagnostics. That is, do not build GD, Cardio, Fluid or X-ray. DNA and MEGA (2-3 rooms each) are all you need for everything. You also have Psychiatry and ward which you have to build because of treatment.

Good tips, exspecialy for me "If you burn those cards, then no problem" are there movement speed boosts to some characters if they spend money on game/dlcs? Feel like one player today online moved on first row like 4-5 tiles

I managed to put the medicine cabinet in the corner. I also put a hand sanitizer by the caster, a coffee unit at the end wall near the beds, and a sweet machine by the desk. You have to move everything off the grid. Brilliant build, thanks so much!

To save 15 minutes of your time, the walking club is obviously the best and the only one you ever need to use. Double walking speed lets you go and do everything at double the speed, it's almost unplayable without it.

It felt like you were fighting for food this whole game. I tend to make food and resource production a top priority earlier. It means I miss out on some tech opportunities, but I feel like I never have a problem fully exploiting what I get.

Can your predators "die", as such,if they don't have enough prey? I noticed that in a previous episode,when your clicked on one,it said it was "starving" in its statistics,that appeared on-screen.
@Pinstar4 күн бұрын
I think so. They do have a hunger meter that slowly decays. While their attraction requirements depend on prey being present, meaning you'll never attract a predator with literally nothing for them to eat, a specific predator can get unlucky by having all nearby prey eaten before they can feed, leading to them starving to death. That said, just like with prey, the population will return to normal after a short delay. As prey get eaten, more will be attracted assuming the plant/coral situation permits them to. Luckily, many predators can nibble on invasive species so they not only help with DPS at night, but also refill their hunger bars on things that I want dead anyway.

Great series. I discovered this great game recently. I love these old games that just run smoothly on an ordinary laptop. What I prefer to do differently: - I build the flophouse right away. This gives all the sims a roof over their heads before the first winter. They will still have children, but not that many. That's ok to me: a big baby boom early is a big death bust later. I prefer the population to grow more gradually. When the basics are set up, I start to build stone houses gradually. Stone houses consume 2/3 the amount of firewood that wooden houses do. When the flophouse is empty, I destroy it. - Never ever build more than one barn before you have the marketplace. The sims will look for food _only_ in the barn nearest to their house. I learned the hard way, that sims can easily starve to death although there is food in another barn. Also, they hoard food in their houses and don't share it with new houses. Only finish a house when there is food in storage (barn or marketplace) or the new house will be empty and risks starvation. Build houses close to work, but always inside the radius of the marketplace. - I build the school asap. I want _all_ children to be educated. The starting children included. This will slow down the start a bit: the kids will stay in the school for 10 years before they become productive (weirdly, the age of the children goes faster than the seasons, people years are shorter than nature years). But I don't mind a slightly slower start. They will make up for the 10 years of school easily in the rest of their lives. - I prefer to start farming early. Farming can be incredibly productive and the production is reliable. Farms scale easily: just destroy the farm in winter and designate a larger one in its place. Larger farms are more productive. There is a guy on youtube that uses only 7x7 farms. That is wrong. Larger farms use the same amount of farmers per grid square, but produce more. Considerably more. Also, there is a guy on youtube that claims that crop rotation is a thing. It isn't, that was an idea of the developer, but it was never implemented. With two 15x7 farms, an early town will be swimming in food and can export all the venison it produces. Ordinary food is worth 1 thingy, venison is worth 3. I expect nobody will ever read this, but if someone does, use it to your advantage. There is still at least one person in the world starting out with this game.

I have a question. Is there any limit to the type of predator fish you can attract? For instance,if I wanted,could I attract a dolphin or something like that as long as I met the requirements for them to be attracted?
@Pinstar8 күн бұрын
Ultimately, each region has different types of plants/corals that can be planted. Those determine what creatures you can attract, which in turn determine the predators. The predators will only show up once you've attracted the prey they like to eat. If you attract more prey, you'll attract more predators. Just like with the prey, if you satisfy the predators' optional condition you'll double their population. That said, if a level doesn't support the plants/corals needed to attract the prey of a specific predator, you can't attract that predator. As we get deeper, the plants, prey and predator variety will increase.

You don't cover the recommended decorations tab and Holo-doc isn't up full time, rooms break and while the room is broken the doc is disabled. A hired doc seems to be less bothered, or maybe the game repairs before something break with a non holo doc.

Through the ages is one of those "You can do anything, but you can't do everything" strategic puzzles. By having such a crazy good early culture production, we had to give up the chance to do something else, such as early science. If I had to do things differently, I would have passed on the colossus and used that production for science and some military so we wouldn't be quite so far behind in tech.

Note that when your janitors fail at fighting an invader, they mope for a bit before they reengage and look for another invader. But if you pick up that janitor and place it right back down, it instantly reengages. This prevents the invader from moving further into your building and reinitiates a fight right away. By doing this, even a level 1 security janitor can eventually wear down a higher level invader and defeat him. Also note that sometimes the invaders are difficult to spot. If you hold your security janitor in the area and position it for a second or two above a crowd, the game tells you if there is an invader close by. If so, you just place the janitor and it fights. If not, keep holding the janitor up and moving it to a new spot and hold it "still" there for a second and the game will tell you if there is an invader there.
