My friend got me into this game and offered to even pay me back 5$ if i beat it. He said I am the most lucky person alive after i defeated this boss, as I somehow did it first try without knowing her secret. I somehow managed to stay right in the middle of her hysteria gauge so she couldn't do her bullshit attacks on me. Didn't even know about the hysteria gauge until after I beat the boss because he told me how lucky I was, Him and his 2 other friends struggled so much at this boss.

The first time I saw this vid, I had no idea what this game was. iirc, it's actually how I heard of the game and why I started. Now, I've played far enough that I can read the pages on the beginning of the first scene and say "oh that's an interesting mechanic setup" and also say "Blade Whirl, my beloved. I wish you were strong enough to justify continuing to use." I'm also kinda confused because while I don't have that floor, I definitely have better pages than these. Nobody explain why that is, please.

This games fantastic but very difficult. Even if you build your deck well, tailoring it to the specific fight, you can still lose to bad RnG. Though when you manage to finally win it's so satisfying.

I want to like this game so badly the gameplay actuslly looks good and challenging, but god damn the in combat art style is abhorrent.

Ngl before this point the game has been just just feel like "you can play however you want we won't bite :)" and then this fight slap me in the face and taught me that you can't play jack of all trades, and need to build a team surrounding a specific damage and use.

This reminds me of the snake in Legend Of Dragoon. It's pretty early in the game, but the difficulty spike is enormous, as for most of the fight you can't do damage to this thing, and it can one shot your party members if you're not prepared. It teaches you mechanics which are useful later in the game, which isn't matched until you get to the first wingly fight, much later in the game. I feel like difficulty spikes are okay if they make narrative sense, but i feel like a lot of RPG's use them to pad out the game, and it can be a frustrating wall that drives people away from the game, like an impassable barrier that can't be defeated.

People bitch about Matador in SMT Nocturne and Shadow Yukiko in Persona 4. I have never seen such a curbstomp on my life in a game when it's still "early on"

I think the first proper struggle boss for me was the Red mist. Then probably Something there. I remember sinking a lot of time into those two before beating them.

The successful strat is to just ignore clashes and stack bleed or burn.
