Regarding art galleries and museums: The Glenbow Museum is world-class. I haven't lived in Calgary since 2010, but I remember that museum fondly. In Alberta generally there's the Royal Tyrell museum in Drumheller, and Head-Smashed-In near Pincher Creek; both are well worth a day trip.

Born here and eager to leave. It’s gotten way too big, expensive and I don’t recognize this place anymore. Our population has exploded in growth. I detest going to the mountains now because it’s over crowded. I’m sad but you can’t bring back the past. 😢

I just moved to mahogany. Renting a room out of a brand new build on the southernmost portion of the community and it’s terrible. Spaces between the houses are non existent. there’s like, 4 cars per house in an area with no driveways. The garages will be done soon and hopefully help but some days I still gotta park half a block away from my house. Lived in riverbend my whole life and the difference between older and newer communities is staggering. I can’t wait to get out of mahogany already.

I totally agree. There’s no parking or back alleys at all in the deep suburbs. We should change our development codes.

Nice video. The east side of Chestermere is noisy on the NE side near HWY. When you are SE it is really quiet since there is no HWY or a lot of traffic. There is a small section of the city SE where there are no street lights and you can enjoy the Northern Lights several times a year. For the shopping, there is no Home Depot :(. One thing you didn't mention are the summer events where there is a beer garden, food trucks, kids activities, music, and fireworks (this happens 2 to 3 times in the summer). Thanks and congrats on hitting over 1K. I was an early subscriber.

Very Calgary based view, have lived in both cities, Edmonton has a great sense of community, charitable giving and volunteer engagement amazing, arts, culture, festivals in Edmonton. Edmonton has trees and an amazing river valley, lakes in the area, better weather April to November and rarely hail storms, more to do in the city in winter months including WEM, iconic world known Oilers franchise does Calgary still have a team or did all the players leave? Suburbs and acreage living around Edmonton. Is St. Albert the nicest city in Alberta? Both great cities, move to Calgary, we are happy with the amazing quality of life, affordability and sense of community in Edmonton.

If you’re here, have a great job and you own your home mortgage free it’s great. If you move here right now. Ouch. If you’re going to enjoy Alberta year round, you’ll need an all wheel drive vehicle. Preferably a full size pickup. Once you’ve got that all set up it’s awesome.

@@ryangillardrealtor hmm you " get what you pay for".. ..so tell me what can you get in Calgary that you CAN'T get in Edmonton? So it takes a bit longer to get to the mountains, bottom line is I can enjoy the mountains anytime. So basically there is nothing that you have pointed out that prevents Edmontonians from having access to or enjoying the cultural aspects BOTH cities have to offer. Ultimately if the cost of housing continues to separate from the average cost in Edmonton $250k plus dollars in your pocket can buy one a whole lot of wants.
