I appreciate the modesty of the uniforms. I wonder why our young ladies wear such revealing uniforms. Does less clothing make for easier movement? I really would like to know! Maybe then I can "let it go" as my daughter tells me.

Gymnastics and ballet evolved from yoga. This really shows the evolution. I love how beautiful everyone is!! Today's people could maybe slow down a little bit sometimes

What happened to the 2000's. The routines became dull and gone were the impressive techniques. Not one gymnast in the 2000's did what the 70's-80's gymnasts could do in the bars.

Tnere was zero spring in the board they used for the vault at that time. It was just an angled wooden board.

I love to see the evolution of the equipment and the sport. They did this at a time when women stayed home and crocheted. Most people men and women still couldn’t do this today.

Nadia is my all-time favorite! She moves quickly & spritely & femininely. Notice how other gymnasts after her, like May Lou Retner etc. all copy how she poses when she lands with arms stretched backwards.

Remember, wombs were more fragile then and if you injured one, that poor women would lose all value to society.

70s for me. In my mind, that was the high point. When watching now, it's a different sport. They moved the bars too far apart and it's about power and strength now, there used to be more grace, creativity, flow, precision, and so forth

I, too, can flip from one bar and hit another lower bar! Oh sure, I'll fall down and twist my ankle and knock the wind out of me, but I am like...30% certain that if I could get up onto the top bar, I would absolutely hit my stomach, fold myself in two and collapse onto the floor like a crying baby. So, it's like we're twins! (In all seriousness, still impressive after all these decades)
