Aqualad wasn't gay in the first 2 seasons in fact he had a female love interest. Why the change to him i dont get considering there are so many characters to choose from.

10. ending on s5, in my opinion, would have made literally no sense. season 6 shows that rehab is not a cure all that will suddenly fix your life, which is something a lot of people who dont experience it seem to think. s6 shows that its a tool to use to turn your life around, which is what bojack does. near the end of season 6 it shows how his previous actions came back to haunt him. 8. the idea that judah and princess carolyn had "no chemistry" until judah confessed is silly. judah made a decision that on behalf of pc which pc could have done the opposite of (merging with charlie witherspoon) which could have drastically changed her life, especially considering that her company was in a very bad spot money wise. after this, pc still finds a way to forgive judah and re hires him. pc is also a woman who needs to constantly work, otherwise she wouldnt know what to do. "if you wanted the simple life, you would have the simple life" - vanessa gekko in the idealistic new england cottage painting daydream thing in yorbe linda. judah has exceptional organisational skills which goes perfectly in hand with pc's personality. 3. i think sarah lynns mother is at massive fault. she never told sarah lynn she was proud of her, as sarah lynn explains in her final voice note she sends to her mother. also signing your 3 year old daughter up for a main part in a tv show isnt something we exactly know the repercussions of. we also dont know what sarah lynn did from when the show ended to when bojack horseman starts. she went from 12 years old to 30 years. her mother could have very much pushed her to step more and more into the light throughout her teens and twenties. in s6 e15, sarah lynn explains one of her biggest shows where her mother "pointed out every calory she ate", which could be a sign that sarah lynn never really said no to her. all she had known her entire life was being a celebrity. her mother didnt give her any other experience to go off of. she couldnt have know better until it was too late. sarah lynns mom made that choice. 2. i dont understand how "everybody" getting a "fairytale ending" is exactly bad. diane for example. she was lonely and neglected as a child and suffered through her adult years trying to do something that SHE is proud of. no amount of external praise can create true happiness. when she finally tries to write the book about her perspective on life and her own life experience, she finds herself unable to access her trauma. "if i dont write this book then all the suffering, all the neglect isnt good damage, its just damage". it takes her until she is almost 40 years old to get some sort of real, long lasting satisfaction. with her book that seemingly wrote itself and possibly her new husband guy. if you really want everybody in the show to have a sad ending, then i quote from wanda "you go pitch it to the heads at [company name i forgot]". diane also explains on the rooftop scene in a not so enthusiastic way that she "smiles more" and "wears less jackets". this kind of character growth is useful to show. not everything must be and can be a downer. bojack horseman as a show is praised, and rightfully so, for showing off deep and dark shit that happens. just because that is where it absolutely shines doesnt mean it has to all be like that. spreading the idea that "rehab will fix everything" is just as damaging as saying "everything will end badly no matter what. 1. todd is very important. hes the one character that we see get hurt by bojack multiple times throughtout the show. he is an example of how somebody can forgive somebody, much like how hollyhock is kind of an example of not forgiving. without a doubt the show would be nowhere near where it is without all 5 the main characters. todd is also dealing with issues that are not very relatable, which doesnt make him a bad character, especially considering the rest of the characters in the show

I never cared about the LGBT stuff. I was raised to see people as people.
