Fmf jet kit calls for fuel screw out 2.5 turns did you do that. Also should not have drilled slide with fmf spring, plus with stock pipe they recommend 160 main as well so not a good test of fmf. Just saying because I ran mine for years and it was flawless.

Came back to your videos after a while of trying to get my motorcycle adventuring itch scratched. I always liked your personality and style to your vids and something about them always made me want to get out there and throw the tent on the bike again.

I clocked 102 mph on my 2014 but I weigh 190 lbs I'm sure that factors in, the previous owner said he got it up to 120mph I doubt it

Just ordered one - I'll be going from 1000 feet to 6500 regularly - this is going to be nice. P.S. My bike is a '23, and has the plug and not the flag to stop idle mixture adjustments. 3 minutes with a hacksaw carefully applied, and I was able to cut off the boss right at the end of the plug, exposing the head of the D-screw. No need to worry about burying the 5/32 drill into the screw head. Just a skosh less than 1/4" (6.5 mm) was removed

I miss it. When I was young, I rode a VF400F, which was the Japanese domestic version of this machine. The differences from VF500F for export are 1. the displacement is 400cc for domestic use in Japan due to the Japanese license system. The power and torque are smaller than the export version. The export model has 70hp, while the JDM version has 53ps. 2. At that time, frame-mounted cowl could not be used in Japan due to legal restrictions, although it was approved soon after the VF400F was released. 3. Frame of 400cc model is round pipe. At that time, Honda and Yamaha were in fierce sales competition in Japan, and the welding work was not well done, perhaps because they rushed to launch the model. 4. Unlike the export models, the brakes were in-board discs. The controllability was not bad, but the braking power was not very strong and maintenance was not easy. At that time, I was really envious of you Americans who could ride the export spec VF500F with the above mentioned problems solved.

I've just purchased a 98 VFR800 after 15+ years out of riding. I previously owned a VF500 as well as a VF400 and VF750 and a couple of other larger bikes... The VF500 probably has to be my most favourite bike I owned, as it was so charming to ride. It was light weight, peppy and just a joy to ride

These are infinitely better than a honda monkey, or grom. They can handle roads and dirt better. And Are way cheaper. I got one used in 2023 in colorado for $750 with 2k miles as a bike get on dirt roads or go to town thats 20 minutes away from my cabin at 50mph. It easily can easy be hitch carried by even a corolla or into rv for emergency transportaion.

That is funny... I had Suzuki DRZ 300 Enduro and it'd juuust creep over 100 mph. I guess a 300cc 4 stroke is simply a 300cc 4 stroke

You changed the chain but not the sprockets. Try changing the rear, or front tooth count. Rebel factory gearing is quite short. More of a highway gear helps 1st gear be more useful without losing the intown fun. Also aftermarket rear sprocket look cooler. Lol. I love my rebel as much as my harley. Fun little hardly-a- davidson. Lol. Keep up the great vids. Lovin it!

Try static balancing the tires. Harbor freight sells a balancer, works good. Fork oil is probably factory and needs to be changed. As for the exhaust wrap. You should soak it in water b4 wrapping it. Less dust and tightens as it dries. Try adding a click to the rear shocks may help handling also. 25 psi seams really low. Like the build and glad it's turning out well for ya. I got some great info and ideas for my continued build. Thanks, keep up the good work.
