The company I drive for has had drivers and road facing cameras. We was informed our samsara cameras will be updated soon to an A.I camera system however there are four updates that have happened and we weren’t informed. The A.I system isn’t a fair monitoring system and leaves open a large window for favoritism and double standards. One of the drivers told me he was driving down the road and dropped an article on the floor board. He reached down to pick it up and the A.I reported him. He had another incident where he saw something out his drivers door window and was looking at it for more than 8 seconds. The system started coaching him about distracted driving. The voice scared him, he jerked the wheel thinking someone was in the tractor with him. The A.I sent an event message to our safety. We now have drivers job hunting and refusing to drive with a A.I watching them.

While restroom access is a real concern as I have read reports of women having to urinate in buckets of cat litter or having to hike up a leg with only a driver seat shielding them from the view of the public while they change a tampon with no place to wash their hands (tiny coffin sleepers on on some trucks have curtains that only go down to the base of the mattress and now windshield curtains), another major drawback is a lack of female trainers. We live in the age of "Me Too!". Even if you're not a perv or a creep, getting creep listed is a real fear for men as is a claim of sexual harassment. As such many men do not want to train female students for the team mentorship period required by most carriers. At my local Walmart a man approached a female and ask her out, she showed him a ring, said she was married, he apologized and left. No persistence, no inappropriate talk or inappropriate touching or sexual innuendo. For his efforts she posted a description on the community Facebook page saying he made her feel uncomfortable. The description she gave matched me, even though I was in Washington hauling potatoes to Nevada at the time, this made me feel uncomfortable as she was asking the whole community to be on the look out for this guy which is basically asking people to harass someone at Walmart with that description. All he did was ask her out and accept no when she said it. Imagine being a male instructor and telling this woman you can't pass her because she is unsafe. When I first got in the industry I met a male instructor at my employer's terminal that had to have the police removed a female student from his truck. He informed her he couldn't pass her because she wasn't able to handle driving in reverse or negotiate turns. She threatened to accuse him of sexual harassment. His dash cam recorded it both audio and video and that's what saved him. That fear is real and why so many seasoned drivers won't train anymore because lawsuits have forced male instructors to take female students. I understand females need to feel safe in the workplace, I keep my hands to myself and don't talk about sex at work, truck stops, customers or in public and I don't try to date: coworkers, clients, customers, contractors or anyone work related. Even still I would be too afraid of a lawsuit to take a female student. The tension would be so palpable in the truck neither of us would be comfortable because neither of us would have privacy or be understanding of each other's needs. This is one of many reasons why women don't have the same opportunities in trucking.

This is one of the worst reports I've ever seen right out of the gate. This is not at all a "rewarding benefits and career opportunities" industry and it never will be unless it is re-regulated and made human friendly. You ought to be ashamed of yourself for even daring to put it in such a context. It is bad enough for men but for women it is even worse. This industry permanently destroys your sleep cycle and family life, pretending otherwise is a vile lie. Women would be well advised to stay very "under represented" in this industry. That dash started in 2023, i believe. I've never seen it in a '22

The good part of it is the base Hino chassis, after that it is all down hill. 200 mile range for a vehicle that is actually pulling loads is baloney. I would bet that you would be lucky to get 70% of that and likely closer to 50% of the claimed range. The energy density problem is what needs to be cracked to even have a shot at EV trucks. And you are probably going to pay at least another 20% of the vehicle price to get a charging station setup.

HVO is chemically identical to petroleum diesel? Then why does it have such high cetane numbers? Why does it perform so superior? Why does it produce less Nox emissions? It is interesting that the Air Nazi's at CARB have no idea. You would think somebody would pose and answer these questions? Why is it, that biodiesel blended into the petroleum diesel actually lowers the quality of the diesel fuel? When HVO is blended into ULSD in any amount it improves the fuel quality? Who are the only two players that make any money from the sale of refined liquid petroleum fuels? Once you figure that out you should be able to also figure out that neither one of those players want to see improved fuel economy. Renewable diesel is only price competitive with petroleum because the Air Nazi's at CARB are subsidizing its cost with California taxpayer dollars. You folks at CCJ should do more homework before producing this 10 44. Your explanations are very poor.

In the UK weed Vs your ability to drive is done with a roadside mouthswab by the police. This determines whether or not you have recently used, as opposed to "have used at some point". But even this isn't necessarily a determination of impairment, rather a guess based on whether you smoked recently enough for a bad swab result.

Hello. I will volunteer an impairment test for the safety of the innocent locomotive public for these ovulating idiots. Attention testing. Anyone stoned will allow their mind to escape down a tangential rabbit hole and lose focus on paying attention. Distractions that result in drivers not concentrating on all aspects of driving increase the possibility of an accident. The discipline to remain focused does individually exist. Detrimentally to such a test, medical cannabis can aid certain drivers in clarity of focus. The only true test is behind the wheel to observe impairment, if any. Conducting a live driving test is the only honest measure of cannabis impairment. ✌️

I’m curious as to what the difference in weight is in a vehicle like this compared to a standard class 8 semi? That said it is great for local applications and maybe regional but long haul is a game they can’t play.

I will not work for a company with cameras facing drivers. Driving in general is no longer a job I want to do. I hope more and more people stop driving for companies with these cameras. Before I even consider working for a company soliciting my labor I ask if they have these cameras.

The cameras on the top/right side of the sleeper, are in direct line of where tree limbs smack trucks a few hundred times a year. Maybe if they had only asked an actual driver some questions when designing. They’ll find out 😂
