I'm 78 and born a year ahead of Laura on the same date on October are our birthday I'm a singer/songwriter with a bluesy, dramatic style with what used to be a soprano. She's the best I've ever heard.

She truly was amazing. I stumbled upon her by hearing Barbra Streisand my favorite singer do Stoney end and I realized it was written by her and then I looked her up. It seems like a lot of her notoriety came from hits of other singers of songs she wrote.

As a kid I used to look on the disc for the composer, so I guess, like most, I heard of Laura from owning 5th Dimension, Blood, Sweat and Tears and Barbra Streisand records. But her own albums blew me away. The purity and passion in her voice could bring me to tears or smile and dance. That's what her music is to me.

There is music between the notes. Her bass lines are so good in that they give the other instruments a place to shine and in all becomes one big perfect sound. That is rare to have.

Yeah, her music actually tells the story of her life…it’s so sad that what killed her mother actually killed her too. I was lucky enough to meet her and talk for awhile at a women’s music festival in Northern California, she was nice and funny, I was so surprised at her sense of humor, loved it. I felt kind of bad because these stupid women didn’t have a clue to what she was, but it was great for me because I did and she took the time for me! I won’t say that I’m sure she was impressed with my knowledge of her music because we all know we’re Nyro nuts!!!!

It seems like Chris believed in and supported Tina from the jump. It still seems like he's her biggest fan. It's what is supposed to happen but rarely does. That in itself is inspirational.

I have a degree in Industrial photography. At one time there were photo labs in companies all over America until a bunch of brain dead corporate accounts said we were not needed and its cheaper to call someone in job for job which turned out to be BS. I envy her for working in a time where she was appreciated and important.

Being an Icelander, I noticed that some of the photos from Tina's youth were taken in Iceland and the whole family was wearing Icelandic sweaters. I Googled this and found that they were actually living in Iceland as her father, the Admiral, was based here at the time. From now on, we Icelanders will claim Tina as our own.

My main question that has been haunting me for years is why the heck haven't Talking Heads gotten back together for a reunion tour? Does David Burn really keep paychecks from ppl like Tina? Kind of a d--- move if you ask me.
