Should you decide to make another trip, consider some other cities besides Amsterdam: Utrecht for instance is lovely and has nice canals too and not so overly crowded with tourists. Haarlem, also very beautiful and worth a visit. And should you travel to the Efteling by train again, you can stop halfway in Breda so I can join you for a drink in the main square. lol.
