It seems like Wario's Castle is based on Wario Land/World. I've thought for a while that Mario's castle (which Wario takes over) from Mario Land II would make a great smash stage, it's hard to make the layout properly even in the Ultimate creator though.

I see it has a similar concept to the Wario Land stage from Project M/+, which is basically WarioWare without hazards or transformations or whatever, and from the layout from the Smash Remix Stage, i'm assuming this is a early version of the redesigned layout of Kitchen Island that was made for ver 0.9.7, since they're pretty much has the same layout, so maybe the devs decided when doing the stage to just scrap what they had and do what they were doing on Kitchen Island instead

Will these things (Cut Characters/Stages in specific) be reworked and added in later updates? Some of these characters really were getting me hyped for inclusion in later updates, only to realize that they were cut previously.

Probably. They still have a chance to get in like Mewtwo and Lucas, whom were previously cut in Smash 4, made it in as DLC.
