I'm going to give this a go. My family loves mashed potato, but I struggle to make it due to disability. I came here hoping to find a way to make instant mashed potatoes edible. I'm excited to give this a try. Thank you for the recipe!

Great question. Arrabbiata is a spicy sauce. Typically served with penne pasta to create penne all'arrabbiata.

Sorry about the comments not having time for nuance in this video. I feel like you explained this perfectly; don't know what these kids are on about with not answering it. That said, I admit I came here wondering why "red sauce" is a thing that gets referred to so much, yet every time I look for a source on its origins, I find "tomato sauce" instead. And the sources that refer to "tomato sauce" seem to act like "red sauce" isn't even a term that's floating around! I really want to know where the term red sauce came from and if there's ever been a disagreement on what that is vs what tomato sauce is.

Thank you @MarkBelain. "tomato sauce" is one of the five french mother sauces coined by Chef Escoffier. In his original manuscripts written in the 1800s you will find tomato sauce. From there you can derive many other sauces by adding ingredients. It seems like red sauce is just a broad term that can apply to any of these. Hope this helps!

Only problem with instant potato’s is the preservatives and emulsifiers and additives that come with it. Otherwise really convenient and quick

I make real mashed potatoes all the time, with lots of butter and heavy cream. They are amazing. However, I do have instant potatoes and could never get them to taste good. You are 100 percent correct about everything you said. I finally figured out how to do it where they were really good. Do not use water! I heated up milk and heavy cream along with a few chicken bouillon cubes. I then added the potato flakes, butter a little bit of pepper. They were great.

Sorry. What Chef Dan is saying is this: Every sauce starts out as a tomato sauce > by adding spices or other flavors to it > then it becomes a marinara sauce... He explained that any tomato based sauce (marinara, spaghetti, pizza sauce, ECT) starts off as tomato sauce, and then you add ingredients to create marinara, spaghetti, pizza sauce.

The color coding is a good idea but It dawned on me that people that are color blind might have a problem. I know some cutting boards have raised littering on it at my work the purple one for non allergenic Foods has raised lettering on you what it's for.
