Don’t you need to add waterproofing under the pan and lap it over the sides behind the sheathing/gyp? 😊

The pan is holding up very good. I try to do the minimum amount of demo but its the best to take lower row of tiles off and if possible to not break them to put tile back

I installed the board before the tile. You can install the drywall for wet spots or cement board, I had drywall everywhere above the cut so I put drywall back before tiling

Is this a project around 2.5k to 3k?

Usually around there, But also matters on area you live in and city and after prices on materials skyrocketed that also plays big role. I would say $2.5-$4k wider range

It looks like you cut the board that the tile was attached to in order to get the pan out. How did you put the missing board back?

There was drywall behind the tile that was sealed up but the way I took the pan out is by cutting it in pieces which is much easier than taking it whole out
