"Maddux would've been higher on the list except for the fact that he played in the steroid era?" That doesn't make sense. He no question that he faced countless steroid-abusing batter during most of his career, right? So, doesn't it make sense to place him higher on the list? The only reason to place him lower would be because he was suspected of taking steroids. He wasn't.

Another list that does not have Lefty Grove, the most under-rated super star in MLB history. Hubbell had two ERA titles ; Grove had nine. Grove had 113.3 WAR for his career more than most any of these guys. Johnson is number one, but Grove, not anybody else is number two

Nolan Ryan is not one of the top 10 pitchers in MLB history. At his best he was great, with 7 no-hitters, and of course he leads in career strikeouts. But he also had 8 losing seasons, and lost nearly 300 games in his career, with just a .526 career winning percentage. A great pitcher, but not top 10 all time.

career 2.48 ERA vs 3.2 huge difference. This stats tracks all innings as an average. not just highlighting the 7 games Nolan did well while ignoring the hundreds he got smoked and based half the lineup. Ryan was never the single best pitcher in any year he played. Has zero Cy Youngs. cry harder

@sportspotlight67223 ай бұрын
Nolan Ryan with a career 3.2 ERA and how many batters based.. How many Cy Youngs? eckersley? and even worse ERA, Smoltz you mean? He has one Cy young sure but still has a worse ERA than Nolan. I will give you Maddux in the top 5 but my biggest snub is Sandy Koufax but he pitched pre 1970 and the game was def harder post 1970 and worse with the roids era.
@SP-ve1im4 ай бұрын
Kershaw is not top 10. He is elite of his period but he pitched in the post roid era plus his playoffs performance is painful to watch... also no way you can rank reliever here as they simply don't have enough innings..
@sportspotlight67223 ай бұрын
Kershaw is arguably the best lefty all time. in 2015 playoffs his ERA was 2.63 and the 2020 world series run he was 2.93 with 11 innings pitched 14 K's to only 7 hits. He may have had a few bad years but 3 CY Youngs and an MVP award is def top 10 material. His Reg season stats are nasty.
