I feel like Ash would grow more if he traveled by himself without anyone slowing him down, because if Ash didn't have Brock or Misty he would learn even more skills instead of relying on two gym leaders for help and I also absolutely hated on Misty keeps on nagging on Ash for making noobie mistakes instead of actually giving him meaningful advice like Brock does, and Brock is just a straight up simp every girl he sees he is simping for, instead of helping your friend train for his gym battles you would rather just simp for every girl you see. Ash would of been a much better trainer of he actually learns by himself and trains way more with his Pokémon, I feel like that is why Charmeleon didn't listen in the first place because Ash barely spends time TRAINING him not because of that stupid meme about Ash earning enough gym badges even thoygh he earned them. Ash would of won against Brock if it wasn't for Brocks bratty sibblings but Brock was a chad and gave Ash the badge anyways because he was defeated and he was kind to his Pokemon. Ash definitely would of defeated Misty because her Staryu ain't really shit neither is her Starmie which I feel like she evolved way to early like how LT Surge's Raichu, and he would of easily defeated her Goldeen, Ash didn't finish her team off because of Team Rocket and that dumb giant vacuum. Ash definitely won against Erika because he was kicking her ass throughout the battle, but her gym got caught on fire and Ash earn her badge by saving her gloom. Companions would just slow you down, literally every companion after they left Ash accomplished their goals this should tell you something. Also Misty literally Togepi away from Ash, it was literally in Ash's bag and when it was hatching it was in Ash's hands until Misty just pushes Ash very rudely mind you and grabs Togepi's egg, Togepi's potential was massively wasted that day when she had the Pokemon, Togepi would of been a badass Togetic if it was trained by Ash. Ash missed on so many catches because of Brocks and Mistys misadventures and nagging and it just frustrates the hell out of me. Look at Proto Marios video of Ash being held back, people don't realize how much of Ash's Pokemon potential was wasted because he never really had that much 1on1 training time with Ash. Also Ash always hated pitty gym badges and he always denies the badges if they weren't earned, but sometimes he haves no choice but to take them but obviously people seems to forget that.
