Man , I bought this too back in 2018 . Love the explorer look . The 12o clock indicie fell off . Cost me $2.00 to have it repaired . Wish I have modding skills . Rotor is kinda loud . Still love it .

Awesome build . I saw Seiko spb143 on a KZfaq vid and fell in love . I also tried it on while on vacation at a Seiko boutique. Love the style hate the $ and weight . Planning to buy the Seestern v3 62 mas . For now I will stick with rubber strap . I have a 6.25 wrist . Bracelet has male end links , no go for me . I love the 62 mas look . Hope the Seestern quality is good enough .

The quality of the Seestern especially the V3 is good. But like I said in my vid, it’s so good the dial needs an applied logo. Thanks for watching and participating with a comment.

Can you remove links from this bracelet? If not, what is the minimum wrist size I can adjust the bracelet of this watch to? I have a possiblity to buy but my wrist's small.
@thedapperwrist57043 ай бұрын
The bracelet can be removed but the lug width is 10mm (the size of the center link). I think it can be sized to fit 5 1/2 inch wrist maybe even a bit smaller.

Do you mind sharing where you found the end links for the seiko brick bracelet on the black dial LM, or did it come with them? I'm hoping to adjust some to fit my 4005-7000 and it looks like I'll have to grind some down. Thanks!

Just saw a picture of the bell Matic with the same bracelet. That’s a good looking watch. The bracelet on my black lord Matic came with the silver dial 5606-5000. I bought the silver dial Seiko just for the bracelet. It is a 20mm bracelet. Just from the pic I saw of the bellmatic it looks to me to be an 18mm bracelet. But I could be wrong. The end links came with the bracelet. Perhaps by finding a broken watch with the bracelet is your best bet to get a good price but that could mean waiting for that to happen. Or do like I did and buy a watch just for the bracelet. I’ve done it few times already. Good luck and thanks for watching and dropping a comment.
@josephhunt89883 ай бұрын
@@thedapperwrist5704 gotcha. Those bracelets look so nice. The Bellmatic is 19mm, and I've seen them on 18mm, too. Didn't know there were 20mm varieties, too. Thanks for the quick response and cool video!

I’m flattered that you quoted me, Jay. Where did you get the Seiko dial and that sweet leather strap? As far as homage watches go, I feel the 62mas is a perfect candidate. An original 62mas is virtually unobtainable, especially in good condition. It’s kind of like those Shelby Cobra replica kit cars you can buy for the price of a new Toyota Corolla. The originals are unobtanium, so third party manufacturers have stepped in and made a legendary car available to the Everyman. It’s not a perfect analogy, because Seiko does offer a reissue, but it costs a fortune. I doubt Seiko is losing sales to Heimdallr, Seestern, San Martin, Cadisen, etc. Those folks were never gonna shell out $3500 for the genuine Seiko article.

In my opinion the 62mas is the AK47 of watch designs. It's simple, has an instantly recognizable silouette, and has been copied and manufactured by a bunch of companies. It's one of my personal favorite watch designs. It has a brutal beauty unlike any other watch.

Seiko will always be my favorite watch brand. They offer something for everyone whether your budget is two digits or five digits. My current daily is a Seiko SUR373. It's a great example of Seiko's ability to go places that microbrands and Chinese brands can't follow. It's titanium and 8mm thin for $200, with a 44GS like case that makes it look like a baby Grand Seiko. Finishing is superb, especially for titanium. Yes, the second hand doesn't line up with the indices, but that's an issue I can easily overlook given the watch's many merits and low price. The knockoff brands might be able to immulate the look, but they can't immulate the compact dimensions. Oh, and even though it's only 8mm thin, it has a screwdown caseback and 100m water resistance.
@thedapperwrist57046 ай бұрын
8mm and a screw on case back! Seiko don’t play! You are preaching to the choir bro. Seiko is also my favorite watch company. It’s the brand I own the most of. It’s comforting to know I’m not the only who gets such a kick out of these adornments on our wrist.

You’re a talented reviewer with impeccable taste in watches. The Orient with the baton indices is a low key masterpiece. I’m sure it was a good watch with the flat mineral crystal, but with the domed acrylic it’s a great watch.

The domed acrylic just takes it to the next level and it’s arguably a down grade spec wise.

Nice to meet another person who is hip to vintage Seikos. I have a 1978 SQ and if you were to just read it as a list of specs it wouldn’t seem impressive in today’s market. Quartz, mineral crystal, folded link bracelet, pressed clasp, 36mm. On paper it’s a mediocre watch. In reality it’s one of the best damned watches I’ve ever owned. The folded link bracelet is super light with lots of articulation so it just molds to your wrist. The dial is subtle, with a hue somewhere between white and rose gold. It changes depending on the angle of the light. It’s 36mm, but it wears larger because of its hooded lugs. The second hand hits every marker giving it the feel of a precision instrument. Finally, the indices and applied logo are so crisply machined that I always stop and marvel that such precision was possible in 1978. Hell, that kind of precision would be impressive now. It’s an amazing timepiece. P.S. I personally love the 36mm size. I was just making the point that the diminutive size would be unpopular in today’s market.
@thedapperwrist57046 ай бұрын
I know what you mean. I just recently bought a Citizen Crystron quartz from the 70s. Finely cut applied Citizen logo and applied CQ logo on bottom half of dial. The second hand hits almost every marker. And the dial and watch head still in very good condition. Beauty of a watch and it only cost me 80 bucks. I don’t care for that quartz ain’t got not soul. Mine do!

You have AMAZING taste in watches. Damn. I can’t decide which of those watches I like most. I can see what you mean about a bezel adding a premium look. Personally, I’m undecided. The watches that you just showed are so incredibly well designed I think they look good with and without the bezel. I think the bezel gives them a harder edged, more masculine look. Without the bezel they look more streamlined and delicate, which is also a great look. Man, that Zodiac and Seagull are COOL.
