Chef Thomas makes it relatable to your childhood or your experience, makes it teachable and easy to get ✌️

When I watched this scene I couldn't help but think of my failed relationship I had in 2015-17. I was working so hard for my job, with loads of travel and endless hours and I also tried to be there both physically and emotionally for my girlfriend and she knew I was trying but that it just wasn't working. At the time I thought I was working to secure our future but it was only long after we broke up did I realize that at that very time, the job was just more important to me than she was. It was at a critical time in my career and I guess I felt more confident about where the job would take me rather than where my relationship was going. You don't realize it at the time. At the time you're just doing your best to manage both and be as present as you could be but I guess I wasn't willing to sacrifice my career aspirations at that time and that we broke up as a result. Life is all about timing. I'm now happily engaged all these years later, but yeah, this just gave me the feels really badly.

The representation of the parents he should’ve had. It’s what everyone deserves.

This scene is exactly why people shouldn’t have kids to fill a void. Donna was a shell of a person and all her kids were raised to make her feel better. Now they have no idea how to attach to someone. So sad.

Sadly leaves out the part where Carmy cuts corners and just rips the wishbone out, as soon as the chef is out of sight. Shows his character development.

without notice I think that claire is actually describing their relationship. The relationship is a cut that will hurt so much in the future, but right now its all kisses and laughs, describing this scene perfectly whilst theyre kissing, before the cut between them is felt.

What is it with Bob Odenkirk being able to play a complex and morally grey character like Saul Goodman, then being able to play a one dimensional piece of shit like Lee? I’ll tell you what it is… it’s called good acting.

I love everything about this scene.. The women uneasy.. Ritchie scoping the table & visibly angry by the insults being hurled at Mikey his big brother.. Uncle Jimmy telling them to “STFU”!Mikey as he unravels & doesn’t possess either the wit or the patience to match Lee as he’s going through a literal mental breakdown resorting to physical taunting.. Lees relentless psychological onslaught.. the looks on everyone’s faces.. masterful cinematography & acting

Was wondering when the great Thomas Keller would do a cameo on the Bear. I mean Daniel Boulud and Rene Redzepi showed up. And I hear the finale has cameos from Wylie Dufresne and Grant Achatz, among others. Can’t wait to finish watching (I’m not binging and doing it slowly so I can savor it).

They both need each other. Carmy needs someone like Richie to call him out for his self-sabotaging and wake him up to the truth and Richie needs Carmy because he's the only family and connection to Micheal that he has left.

This scene kind of feels like the calm after the storm. I feel like scene emphasized the importance of inspiring and nurturing role models. An amateur cook can turn into a chef with a lot of inspiration from chefs before them.

Chef Meir Adoni is famous for his kindness with his staff. When asked why he "never yells at them like other chefs do," he said, "Who am I to yell at them? These people work their ass off 12 hours a day for me." I worked in professional kitchens for more than 10 years. The job is hard enough without an ego maniac screaming at you.

Being told over and over that ‘you’re nothing’ really hits a nerve. Like the camera angle shows that Mikey is proper taking it to heart. It’s proper sad when you think about it.

The way he teaches reminds me of the best attending professors that I had in med school. Softly spoken, clear directions, authoritative, with constant active feedback during either exam maneuvers or surgical technique delivered with empathy. In particular, I remember one general surgeon attending guiding me through one of my first days on my colorectal rotation, as I was literally arm deep in guts, showing me through words where I was and what I am supposed to do rather than impatiently pointing or taking over constantly like some other attendings. Surgery ended up not for me, but I still remember him fondly.
