Love these ideas! I just did my first "8th Grade Graduation Photoshoot" this past weekend with my son and one of his best friends as my models...loved this experience, as it created a memory for them and helped build my confidence as a beginner photographer. Will incorporate a few of these in other subsequent sessions.

I wish these sites cater more to overseas. I used and set up my CloudSpot in a day- loved it so far! However, when I reached the invoice page they’re only operating and supporting USD. I asked that virtual assistance personnel if I can at least process a transaction with clients even in USD here in the Philippines, and he said no 😭😭😭😭 I requested this to them and they confirmed that they acknowledge it. Great site overall for photographers.

I have not used a reflector yet but am going to try mine a few times before my first real session next Thursday:)

Great info! I have a senior portrait session coming up and I’m gonna try some of these poses. She has been very vocal about not wanting any “old” pics. Ha! Do you have an advice/videos on dealing with the mothers who sit just over your shoulder and direct their daughters and… well, demand pics from 20 years ago? You have another subscriber.

Hey there!! Hope I'm not too late responding to this!! I've definitely had this happen where the mom is a little too picky. I try to set the tone from the beginning of the shoot that I'm in charge, and I tell them that I will walk her through all the poses the entire time. If the mom is stepping in, I will take a photo of the pose she wants, but continue on with the pose I setting up. If it gets out of control, and it's obviously making my senior upset or stressed out that the mom is overbearing, I will *respectfully* ask her to watch our stuff and move to another spot lol or tell her to trust me, I've got it. I've only ever had it that bad one time though!
@patrickmcmahon8182 ай бұрын
@@kelseymariephotography Thank you for the reply! Nope, you’re not too late (this weekend in fact) and I really like the idea of having mom watch all the stuff that seems to show up at these shoots while we walk away. I’ll bring a couple of extra heavy tripods to keep mom from just grabbing everything and trying to follow.. ha. Great idea, I will try the above! Appreciate your channel and thanks for the help.

Thanks for the video, question for you, on your albums on average how many images do you edit that they can select from to build an album?
@kelseymariephotography2 ай бұрын
Great question! Most of my galleries are about 100 - 175 images! I have them go through their gallery and "heart" their favorite images which I use to create the album. Most of my Senior Keepsake Albums are 10-15 spreads an have anywhere from 1 - 6 images per spread. Hope thats helpful!

Was there a point that you were showing her the shots along the way? My wife is pretty good at knowing the poses she wants, but often wants to often wants to see each shot. Trying to get her to wait until after a few shots, but I guess for her it is easier to keep track of each one that way, to make sure she is not blinking, or a shot is not slightly soft. But it does slow things down a bit. What do you think?
@emilywalker8363 ай бұрын
I show all clients a few shots from the back of my camera during shoots. For many reasons 1. To make sure they feel like they look good (side, hair, smile) and 2. Some people have insecurities, showing them how good they look makes them more happy during the shoot:)
@kelseymariephotography2 ай бұрын
Great question! And yes, I do! Especially when I know I've nailed a shot and want her to see how amazing it looks too. I also will do this at the beginning of a session too so she can see that she's killing it and ease her nerves!

@emilywalker8363 ай бұрын
A ton of people don’t use flash especially out doors if you know your lighting and exposure
@mikemike26273 ай бұрын
@@emilywalker836my reason for my question was when your video started you said you should have skipped that location because it was so cloudy….flash would have solved that problem. I’m just sayin.
@kelseymariephotography2 ай бұрын
Hi Mike! I do not use flash! I am a natural light photographer and prefer the look of a natural glow/light vs. artificial light (aka a flash)! Flash has a very distinct look, and for my personal photography style, I look for locations that have great natural light, open shade, and will expose my clients evenly from head to toe!

Thank you Kelsey Marie! This was so very helpful. Do I need to have all the images in the gallery print ready? Color corrected? I try to get them close enough when I show proofs. Does WHCC do custom printing or do we need to have the image color calibrated and ready to print? I know that you can set the order for waiting to be approved by you the photographer. I'm used to getting my images completely ready with no custom printing necessary but that is only on the final images. It would be so great though if WHCC color corrects for us.

Hi Kelsey. This video was very informative. That sun was very strong in various locations during your session. What setting did you mostly use, particularly at the pool in the beginning and when she was on the bench at that place with plants all around in background. Appreciate you and your videos. Thanks
@kelseymariephotography2 ай бұрын
Hey there! Yes, the sun was sooo bright as we started her session fairly early in the day to squeeze in so many different locations. My settings when we were at the pool were ISO 100 \ f 1.8 \ SS 1/6400 on my 50mm lens! That next set (when she's wearing white pants and colorful top) were about ISO 160 \ f 2.0 \ SS 1/2000 also on my 50mm! Hope that helps!!

How do you charge for your team members? Do you accept everyone who applies? Do they have to be at all your functions?
@kelseymariephotography4 ай бұрын
Great questions!!! The team fee is the same as my highest senior package and the team fee includes their personal session! I do not accept everyone that applies. I look for girls who are excited to be on my team specifically, those that are active in their school and extracurriculars, and have a similar style to the KMP brand. I do require them to be at the Meet & Greet party and the 3-4 big team shoots!

Do you have any suggestions on how I could do this as a male photog?
@kelseymariephotography5 ай бұрын
You can totally do this as a male photographer! You should definitely reach out to Rob Greene or Reed Gallagher if you have specific questions from a male's perspective. If you're already working with hs seniors, it should be an easy add on!! Start with a few friend photoshoots and an "honorary team" to help spread the word and I think it would be great!
