Hey... thanks for the "workstation" correction (it was really Roland's labeling mistake to start). Roland's software updates have addressed the multi-sampling issue and so much more and their 'EX" optional software upgrade seems really fairly priced. I'll probably get a like new "used" Fantom 6.

I own both. Fa=very cheap components. It won't last as long as the Yamaha.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video - Pardon my ignorance, but a lot of these parameters seem to be available using the Roland Piano app - I just have the lowly X30, but individual note tuning, damper and string resonance are all available to me via the app - which once set can be saved to the actual piano. Also, when you get to my age, the nuances of these changes are virtually inaudible.

Thanks - Great video. Hey, doesn't "Live Mode" provide the set list function? I think you actually can store your sounds for a set.

Love my FA06 only downside was the sampler, I’d love it to be played up and down the keyboard and used like a wave with editing. I’ve got a Yamaha EX7 in 1999 that does that and let’s you use the samples as waves to make new sounds with the same editing features

Why didn't you just buy a Fantom 8 instead of the Fantom 7? It has the exact same keyboard as the RD2000.
@marantz7775 күн бұрын
The note dropdown is caused by the fact that fantom-0 has only 2 zen-processor, while regular fantom has 4. It drops notes because computation power limited.
@anthonylascano23786 күн бұрын
It isn't a question of power, but a question of sonic pallete

I got the Fantom 7 and got the EX upgrade. I agree it’s not just a workstation which I would never buy . It had everything and most likely won’t ever be outdated . I control everything in my studio with it . Great job . Love to see some tutorials on the Nzyme and the exter😮midi usb and cv . Roland’s tutorials are lacking to be nice .

I read somewhere that the factory preset sounds are voiced (EQed, effects,...) differently on MODX and Montage. Supposedly to make Montage sound better. Is that true?

I think anything that runs off of the newer MPC OS and software is the way to go in terms of sequencing. The fact you can use it as a multitrack recorder makes it all that much fresher...

Firstly thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and making this tutorial. I have watched many videos of Fantom but this is like almost complete tutorial. Fantom has fantastic futures but only this always missing is combination sounds like how Korg kronos and montage is providing. Only reason I love Korg but as a pianist I don’t like the weighted action on Korg RH3 doesn’t feel like a real piano action but montage has still better action. After the Kawai MP11se I prefer the Roland PHA50 action and also piano sounds are nice especially V piano. I had a choice between RD2000 & Fantom8 but I choose the RD2000 as it has very much similar design and future as a pianists point of view. For Music production I prefer Logic and for sounds I prefer VSTI. I am happy with the RD2000 but I am still waiting for replacement of Kawai MP11se. Love the tutorial. Thank you again 🙏❤

Very nice review. Your are a very good pianist. I love the RD2000 a lot it has decent piano sounds but the action is really fantastic. I love Kawai MP11se because it has fabulous pianos sounds and action feels like real piano. RD2000 is more versatile in a not so heavy also there’s no compromise in built quality. If anyone looking for best piano which can sound like real piano then V piano expansion may solve the purpose. Thanks!

Question Bro 🙋 - can the Akai road hammer 88 be plugged into the MCP 61 with the possibility of giving you 88 weighted keys and more octaves ? I sent a note into Akai to see if this would be possible. That would certainly aid in orchestral companions where higher and lower octaves are needed

Great videos ! I feel very confediant after watching yo explain the use cases for this keyboard as a studio composition tool and for live as a backing track tool - I am conviencred that the MCP 61 is a great tool in our music tool box. Thank You brother I have one on the way ! Cheers 🍻

I have never been interested in playing any sort of instrument until about a month ago. I secretly bought a Roland RD-2000 and picked it up today, with Rolands KC 80 amp and Rolands RPU-3 foot switch pedal and headphones and ( she doesn’t know ). It will be my first time touching a keyboard. I want to master the piano over the rest of my life and I turn 60 in one month. Long story short, my wife had 12 years of lessons and played piano for the church for 25 yrs. She is 60 and she started playing when she was 4 yrs old. So, she’s pretty much a pro. I am not going to tell her and I will surprise her when I sit down at her piano and play “Fur Elise”. BTW, I’m putting the Roland RD2000 piano in my home office and only playing it with the amp when she is not home otherwise it will be with the headphones. She never comes into my office because it’s far enough away from the central part of the house and is over the garage. She’s going to freak. Wish me luck. 🙂👍

Thank you. I wish I could find your video before I bought this keyboard. This is just for backing tracks. If needing instant sounds while playing, I would get stuck with only 8 sounds for the whole night unless I load anotherproject. This really sucks. So limited. So disappointed.

I currently own a mc 707, and what I love about zen core is the pcm waveforms, does this keyboard also comes with those?. I love how basic they sound but still interesting. Only 64 steps per pattern? not 128?😮

The the regular fantom have the same polyphony issues ?
@darrickkeels638724 күн бұрын
Yes but with using the V-Piano with unlimited polyphony, you don't have to worry about the piano cutting out. However, if you are using the same exact sounds on the "regular" Fantom, you will get the same issue.
