Does it matter which side of foil to use? Shiny side vs not so shiny side? Lol

I’m wondering too most of us keep baking soda in the fridge. Maybe you can recycle your baking soda from the fridge to do it. I wonder if that would work

A 2 carat D flawless that is not type 2A goes for right at 100,000USD if it is a name brand Tiffany and Co ring. So depending on the brand’s up charge, you would spend no less than 60,000USD and upwards of 150,000USD

ok, so I see this was made 9 years ago.... I have been looking at resin printers and based on everyone I have talked to, jewelry resin does not need to be cured, and usually only just washed with water and it's ready to go. Normal casting resin DOES need to be washed and cured however. jewelry resin is specifically made for dental or jewelry, something that will be burned out and not permanent . . .

It really works! I just cleaned my son’s silver chain which had turned charcoal gray and it shines brilliantly again! The odor the chemical reaction puts off smells just like an old hair permanent.

I went into the jewellery store with my silver to have it cleaned. A lady in the store told me about this method. I thought she was off her rocker.. Until, today, when i tried it. My gawd, this is some old school Voodoo shiznat aunt Bee Betty Crocker trickery right here! Thank you for your video to show me how it's done! My silver shines brighter than the day i bought it, 17 years ago!

diamonds have high thermal conductivity. The fog draws heat from the stone and evaporates which cools the stone making it even harder to draw heat from it. If it is not a diamond it drags out tremendously. It's a very cool trick!

I used my sterling flatware every day for three years. It had a slight patina, but nothing objectionable. My sister cleaned it with this method. Now my sterling turns black in three months. Don't do this! It pits the surface of the sterling.

Add half a cup of vinegar and you'll get even faster results. You can sometimes just dip a heavily oxidized piece of silver and it'll come out clean.

crazy how far tech advanced in 8 years, that 3D printer cost $50,000 back then, we can buy one that print faster, bigger volume for 1/100th of the cost at $500 today.

I have a silverplate (I think) chalice / goblet type thing, long stem, etc. I'd forgotten where it was, and when I retrieved it, it had a light blue layer of oxidation, dead center, only in the cup part. 😐 There's no way it can be placed in a bowl so that the inner blue part touches the aluminim. Any suggestions? I could just put baking soda in it, and pour boiling water over that, but will that work without the aluminum foil? Or should I just reverse it: put the baking soda into the cup, add the boiling water, and then put / smush some aluminum foil over / onto that? 🤔

@carriedbyspeed Жыл бұрын
Pour the liquid in the chalice (all the way to the rim) and then toss a piece of aluminum foil into the liquid solution. The tarnish will only be removed where the liquid is touching and only if there is aluminum foil also in contact with the liquid
