We would do many things differently if we started restoring our bike now. However, the brakes became efficient and functional and the bike plays well.

Love those Montessa‘s when I used to ride many years ago; I had a 349 Cota; super light and tons of low end torque!

I can imagine that. My brother and I had two other mopeds with automatic transmissions. Montesa cota 49 was strong for going off-road when we were 10-12 years old. Now it's a joy for our own children, even though I often drive it myself.

Es verdad. Pero cuando compramos ese ciclomotor en 1988, teníamos 10 años. 49 cc fue bueno en el bosque y en los senderos.

Hi! Rear wheel is 3.00-18” (Heidenau K41) and front 2.25-19” (Heidenau K46).

Concordo. Non molto professionale. Avevamo poco tempo. Comunque il risultato finale è buono. Il motorino non è stato adatto per 30 anni. Non abbiamo vomitato quando l'abbiamo fatto funzionare. 😜

Thanks! Sorry to hear you don’t have your 247 anymore. We almost lost our 49 but we were lucky when we saw some KZfaq videos about Montesa bikes. That sound we heard after 30 years woke us. We picked every pieces and repaired our Cota 49 with my brother (driver on video).
