If you look at the 2:05 mark you can see the rope suspended on it's own. The magic happens when Teller ties a slip knot at the 1:55 mark and hides the knot in the hole. Then when the "Magic" happens the quick tug releases the knot.

How does he make the first rope entry being fake then? At 1:51 he inserts one of the ends. Using a knot doesn't solve the issue with the one end actually going into the cube.

@@mortgagefinancing5558 Look carefully at 3:16 thru 3:23 and you'll notice he's not even touching the block its adjacent string. If you know some rope magic, you will be able to discover how the trick is done.

I stopped performing this one at my shows. Not because it didn't go over well. But because it's sort of a pain to load and transport the drill press and chop saw. 😀

They've just released "brass buttons silver edition" I ordered from penguin yesterday. It's a plain washer instead of a rusty one which was the only thing stopping me from buying the original.
