No, our GoScope telescopes cannot be controlled by software. Telescopes (and specifically, mounts) that can be controlled by software are kits that have GoTo functionality. The Mini 50mm Guide Scope is designed to be used as a guide scope and built with a focus range to allow autoguider devices to reach focus. We don't suggest diagonals and eyepieces, it will likely not reach focus.

The GoScope optical tube has a 1/4-20 block and that attaches to a quick-release shoe on the mount, but the connection method is a 1/4-20 threaded post. You can see some more details in the instruction manual on our website here on page 5: bit.ly/4bApsVu

Collimation can be done as needed. If you're looking at a field of stars and notice that they tend to have "tails" and don't look like pinpoints of light, collimating the optics can remedy that.

We haven't tested it specifically but this item is compatible with refractors equipped with a 2" focuser, it looks like it should work just fine.

Hello 🙂 I'm pretty sure this one won't work on my Spaceprobe 130mm reflector I got yesterday, but it says it is compatible with a drive. Which one for the Spaceprobe 130? I'm really enjoying it so far. I agree with some folks that the setup directions are't super clear but it was easy enough to figure it out. I got a pretty good view of Vega this morning, almost directly overhead, because this presenter did a setup eq mount video that I followed almost to the letter. Polar alignment and all 😁 I'm looking forward to using this scope and the (eventual) motor drive a LOT. Thanks, Orion

He didn't mention exit pupil and dark-adapted eye pupil diameter versus age. Also don't buy zoom binoculars. Expensive, and hard to repair, or align. Binoculars are available as centre-focus or individual eyepiece focus types. The latter are easily waterproofed, best for astronomy. Centre-focus better for uses needing constant refocusing, i.e. birding etc.

We don't have a solar filter for the 12" RC and we generally don't recommend solar viewing with a truss-designed system. Sunlight could shine down through the open trusses and present a dangerous situation if the system isn't properly light shrouded to fully block out the light.
