Im actually working at the pump stations out here. Half these trails with the rain flood due to the rain and us pumping water out to restore its natural sheet flow. Its all being restored. One day, those roads will be gone and it will be pure nature. Enjoy them while they are still here!

Nice video, love richoland. please take into consideration that water crossing faster is no the best way... less splash the better, specially when you don't have a snorkel or you might doubt about how good seal your snorkel have. tip: my snorkel is installed and I have put silicone over the filter housing. So no water at all comes through. cons: I need to cut the silicone while washing my filter.

Why not just let the fire burn? Native Florida environments thrive with fires like this and have adapted to be on fire basically all the time. Good idea to call the forest service, but ideally they'd just dig a fire break and let the fire burn out.
@OffRoadAdventures155
@OffRoadAdventures155 Жыл бұрын
Ocala has been hit hard with uncontrolled fired this summer. One was burning and spreading for over a month in the northern section. We love the forest and understand why controlled burns are necessary, but this wasn’t one of them.
@Ya_Boi_Newton
@Ya_Boi_Newton Жыл бұрын
@OffRoadAdventures155 I get where you're coming from, but IMO putting the fire out rather than containing the fire was the wrong thing to do. Wild fires aren't necessarily bad, especially when monitored and frequently occurring. The more small fires like this one are allowed to occur, it becomes much less likely that any one of them will become an uncontrollable blaze. Not shaming you or anything, just trying to change the culture around fire ecology in Florida. Great video!

11:15 I'm planning on going there soon & I wonder if traction boards could've help in this situation. I can't engage my lockers because my 4wd is acting up. I can only turn on 4hi and no 4lo therefore no lockers. Then need to turn off engine to disengage.
@OffRoadAdventures155
@OffRoadAdventures155 Жыл бұрын
Traction boards were useless there. The owner of the 4Runner had them on hand, but everything was just sooo slick there that only a tug would break the suction from being framed out and move the rig. Unfortunately, that was in 2022, so where he got winched “Peanut Butter Hill” no longer exists. It’s been graded over since. Trail 14 is still open with the “Mars Landscape” and I’m sure there are new places there now that would be fun to explore. Just look out for that duckweed in the really deep stuff to avoid and bring a friend just in case!
