just a tip, create a seperate dynamic expression automation for each trumpet and do them all bit differently. it will sound better and more natural +the phasing isnt a problem any longer

Cool!! Just FYI: originally horns begin (on the left) and wagner tubas answer (on the right). But I believe SM doesn't have wagner tubas so there could be another set of horns on the right :)

Wow - these sound very warm and lovely! Cool arrangement as well (as it was trumpets + flutes layers in the original beginning passage of that score, composed by Christopher Lennertz). Cudos mate!

can anyone please explain what the hell this guy means? why not just show a quick tutorial on what exactly he meant
@ctsr11175 жыл бұрын
He’s explaining about the reverb when you’re making orchestral mockups on an DAW software, and in an orchestra it has a reverb from performing the music in the Large Room Hall Stage Area thing. So, in that conclusion the dry sound be replaced with reverb and only wet sound.

I am seeing a picture with horn players. Wouldn't it be better to to see the actual software in action with a real player?
@kylejudkins7547 жыл бұрын
hey bung lord... pleaaaaaase tell me how you layered these... was it playing 4 trumpet lines separately, or do you just stack 4 tweaked trumpets and play it once

I think it's in the wrong key....too high. But still awesome.
@jhummelgaard93107 жыл бұрын
But you probably do use something like Altiverb for the reverb right? I think it costs the same as all the brass instruments put together.
@dropkickmonk3y7 жыл бұрын
Most impressive. Do you use a complete "wet" signal on the reverb on the master channel or do you use a mix-wet 70% - 30% dry?

Probably the most impressive demo I've ever heard for a brass sample pack. This is the one that convinced me to replace all the brass I had been using with Sample Modeling. However, I still have been unable to make it sound as good as you had it here.

Chris Geddes Music Combining Sample Modeling brass with a form of reverb and spatial positioning makes a world of difference! I personally use ValhallaRoom and Virtual Sound Stage 2.0 respectively

oceanic714 I did quite a lot of testing with VSS2 for ER and 2C Audio's B2 for a hall tail, but it wasn't really flexible enough for me. Currently I'm experimenting with using stereo delays going into B2 for spatilisation and early reflections and then a separate B2 for tail.

This literally sounds like a recording of four horn players playing together on a soundstage. This is nuts. I love the french horns most of all I think.
@floofytown9 жыл бұрын
This is why Altiverb is so good for SampleModeling, or any good convolution reverb...the dry sound is completely eliminated and replaced by natural room reflections, which is how we'd hear a trumpet in a room. With Altiverb you can actually move the trumpet around in the space too without ever hearing the dry signal or even having to pan the track itself. It'd be so rare that a trumpet or other horn is recorded with just a close mic. I mean, sometimes they are, but it'd be more likely a mic at least a few feet away in a decent room since the thing is so loud. Room sound is essential to make it seem like a real recording!
