I’ve gotten both sides to about 600, forehand just barely there and backhand to a little over 650 with a 360 degree throw. Both of these were done with a significant wind assistance. Without wind I can get both sides to over 500 pretty easily with a distance line and about 450 all hyper, with a bit of flip up

The wrist snap hurts my elbow. I'm 40 years old and had to quit using forehands so much Lighter discs, less throws, more warm up to preserve what is left of my tendons I save forehand for scrambles and accuracy on certain upshots
@DiscGolfwithSam2 ай бұрын
Smart to preserve, I have to do the same at times when my elbow is a bit overused

As a tennis player, I can hit a ball 80 to 90 mph on both forehand and backhand. However. I can barely drive the disc 30 feet on the forehand side, ripping it at 100 percent power and almost throwing a shoulder out, and after watching several hours of tutorials. Still new to this sport, but the forehand seems like a huge amount of effort, compared to a backhand that I can throw over 200 feet standing still, with very little practice.
@DiscGolfwithSam2 ай бұрын
I was in the same boat when I started, none of my forehand power was translating into disc golf distance. I’ve got some videos planned that may help coming up in the future about my disc golf forehand journey and hopefully it can be of help to you!

The thing I've learned lately is my rating improves a lot faster if i spend more time practicing my putt than my drives/max distance, but doing both is still important. I used to just do putt reps without really diving into technique like i do with other parts of my game.
@DiscGolfwithSam2 ай бұрын
I definitely gotta work on my putting, I think that's the weakest part of my game
@Nolast125032 ай бұрын
@@DiscGolfwithSam ruins my whole vibe if my putting feels weak. Getting into c1 for a tough bird look and then missing the putt, I'm incensed! Once it happens a few times i am too pissed to do anything else well. Also, putting well ups my scramble game a lot, saving par from c2 feels good. Basically good putting is just good for confidence and emotional management
@DiscGolfwithSam2 ай бұрын
True that, my best rounds weren’t so much from good throwing, which helped, it was from having everything go in from c1 plus a c2 putt here and there so I completely agree on putting being the glue that holds everything together

practicing bad form also will destroy your elbow which did mine.. i would go out to the field and literally throw 30 times max distance and yeah needless to say only way my elbow heals now is 3months ZERO disc golf and i just cant manage to not throw so seems my elbow will NEVER heal.. take this kids advice and warm up so that doesnt happen to you!
@DiscGolfwithSam2 ай бұрын
I know what you mean. It's tough to have the discipline to heal an injury completely.
@OkieTradez2 ай бұрын
i think ppl that dont like the tips just dont believe them.. wither they can throw 500ft and know better or they cant and need to at least try what you say! do you think anything about your elbow in the throw? what about your left thigh do you flex it into the throw?
@DiscGolfwithSam2 ай бұрын
I don't really think about much, which may be a bad thing, but I don't like overthinking things when I play. Generally I just think about my aim point. Tournaments anyway, field work is different.

True that! I'm gonna make a video on this very concept! I have always been able to skip rocks very far and I do think there is a correlation in the skill required.

I haven’t thought about it that way, but that’s is pretty much exactly it, my rock skipping ability is very similar in throwing a forehand, nice catch!

This particular course is called crossroads, and there are several more in the area. I’d definitely use some search engine to help you locate your local courses. An app called UDisc is quite helpful. As well as a website called DiscGolfScene
