Great Salt Plains of Oklahoma. If you can visit, visit early in their season. Follow their rules and you can find some amazing Selenites. It's a specific type of Selenite that is only found there, and you can rockhound (dig) up to 2 pounds for free. Kids love the trip!

On rare occasions, dinosaur bone from Australia is turned into opal. It can be of amazing color and polished. One specimen is a fossil Pleisiosaurus skeletal remains.

Honestly pretty crazy how much bang for buck he is getting living in the middle of nowhere. I’ve seen much smaller and less opulent houses/mansions sell for more than that in the U.S. Location, location…

When you make the saturated solution all of the chemical needs to dissolve and become clear. When the water evaporates the solution becomes supersaturated which forces the chemical to deposit as crystals. If you cover the aquarium with cloth to keep out dust which settles on the surface you’ll have less problem with crystals growing on the surface and dropping on the top of the main specimen. If you prop the actual specimen on an inverted small glass it’ll keep the bottom growth from impinging or hang by a thread from a pencil to suspend above the bottom also. The growth can be adjusted to make hopper growth too which looks like steps around the crystals. Great video though, I used to grow them when I was a kid and loved it, copper sulphate, table salt and sodium thiosulphate ( alum)

I made something by accident once..but threw it away when i was 12...it was from a water balloon i put in a drawer and forgot about for years...then i found it like what the heck is this!!?? Somehow the inside water of the balloon had hardened into clear plastic resin and the balloon peeled off!!!

Absolutely great video!!!! I was hoping you would mention abalone pearls (since I live in California….i have found 2 in my whole life)…..wow I love your content soooo much! I always learn a lot!!!! One time, my friend and I gathered mussels for a delicious meal. She opened a mussel and there were around 5 PINK “seed” pearls! Small but wonderful. Thanks for this video once again!

For a durable and cheap diamond alternative, synthetic Moissanite is perfect. I bought a Moissanite ring just to wear and i get lots of compliments. My choice would be Padparadscha sapphire. Durable and beautiful color from nature.
