@craftystax Take care with these Hollywood ones, or any vintage magazine. While any content created *for* the magazine is indeed in public domain, any pre-existing content *is not.* This is especially true of studio stills of famous actors' faces, movie posters, and movie stills. Universal, WB or Disney still owns all that stuff and they are all litigious. Also, the photo of Karloff you had mentioned before is not in public domain. Universal not only has renewed the Karloff image as their property but also trademarked any Frankenstein's monster with bolts in neck who is green with square head etc. as they claim that vision is "theirs." Films are copyrighted 95 years from when they were made, if they were made before 1978. So we are currently in 2024, so we are only now reaching films made in 1929-30. The Universal monsters were much later. Just didn't want anyone using those studio shots of movie stars or reproducing the movie posters from magazines, especially for things like Abbott and Costello which are highly protected. Also it is good to note that even if a movie is in public domain, it is only (the showing of) the *whole movie* which is unbound to be freely copied and distributed. Stills, and the actors' faces/personas are a whole different category of intellectual property which can be renewed indefinitely if the studio or the family care to, in more ways than one. That is to say the whole film, and the *content* of the film often have two different copyrights and sometimes even two different owners. Of course, some IP they will protect more than others. You're probably pretty safe using things at least 95 years old but in a couple of years for instance, James Cagney, Bogart etc will be coming up and I'll bet you dollars to donuts that Warner Bros will have those faces strapped down as intellectual property regardless of the whole individual films being freed up for copying and distribution. Plus actors can have publicity rights/personality rights which supercede their image being used without permission even if a film is in public domain. Just don't want anyone losing their house or anything out there!

Final result is a bit off compared to the examples at the beginning of the video... good try regardless.

How would I make an image with words in inches instead of pixels. I never did a T-shirt with words let's say if I have lots of eight by 11 piece of paper and I wanted to put words with some decorations let's say flowers on the outside or in the image or whatever on the side how do I measure that to be put in the middle of an 8x10 piece of paper to be put in the middle of an 8x11 of paper. I've always done my own words on cricut I've never taken an image offline with words and just put it on a shirt I've always taken just images of a design. Hope this makes the words are let them with flowers around it and I'm just trying to figure out how to measure something like that My printer only prints eight by 11.

Mr. Crafty S. I have this .PNG file that is group. There are 2 parts (white) that need to be deleted and the place will look transparent like the rest of the image. I am struggling to cut the parts of the object. It is a grouped file, and I cannot ungroup it either I used shift to select both objects and I go to Path and difference, but I do not get the desired result. I wonder if I can supply the file and make your next tutorial where the part to cut out is round. Looking forward to your insight. Thanks a great deal.
