This message was a strong rebuke of what we face every single day and which holds us back from a deeper relationship with Christ. Also the distractions of today also take away from our fulfilling our purpose on a daily bases. Thanks for this challenge before we started this fast for the new year. Very timely and wonderfully direct. We all need this message.

This just popped up in my feed and I believe it is an altar, a stone of remembrance to look back at and to say hitherto the Lord has helped us. I am a newer co-laborer in this house but my hand has been on the plow in this city for 2 decades now and I have never been more excited about how He is advancing His kingdom now. It is truly a Miracle Season and we have not even seen a glimmer of how He is going to turn the head of this city to gaze at Him. The cross WILL be raised over our city. He said ask and He'll give us the nations as an inheritance. Well, we ask for DC because as goes our city, goes the world. Grateful to get to run alongside you in this season. -Lindsey A.

The story of the German pastor having his flame put out brought me to tears. So many times that has happened to me, by “hereditary”, “Sunday” , “church popularity” congregants who call themselves Christians. And by pastors who are CEO’s more than they are Shepherds, who are managed by elders and high financial givers more than they are by the Holy Spirit. Who do not disciple or mentor because the “yes” people are easier to manage so why stir the water. Who are too busy being focused on the next social event to create, or allow to be created, study groups, focus groups or long term plans for church spiritual growth because the priority is building enhancement. The building is where you meet, the congregants are who comes, the church is what we take out into society- and we are not doing that well. Too many churches have lost “The Way”.

Thank you for making the women of the Bible as valued as the men. Jesus was all inclusive, we should be too.

I love the story of Gideon. One quick comment in the sermon really spoke to me and it was the question of what problems do we see that need solving, and are we making ourselves available to be used by God to be a part of the solution? This is a great challenge to reflect on this week!

God’s perfect timing usually requires a period of waiting while He prepares us. Just as you said- there is a process. When we look back we can see that process and thank God for it because we see the wisdom in it. Growth comes when we can pray for that wisdom, to see the reason, the process, in the waiting. It only makes us stronger. Pray-Listen-Trust-Obey-Worship God Our Father.

OT and NT continuity of God’s Word, Jesus’ example. Application of the Word in our lives and how to take action. Now that is a lesson we can carry through the week to grow our faith! Thank you.

This was an amazing and practical message. The analogy of what Christ expected from the temple compared to our bodies as a temple was very powerful.

This message was so powerful. It spoke on a very relevant and significant part of our life in the modern age in America as followers of Christ. I was encouraged and given language to express more of our experience. Finally this message translates well for folks new to the faith as well. I have quoted this message so much already to friends and family. Thank you for unpacking such a timely word.

Thank you Brandon for always walking us through His word to remind us and reinforce for us how important it is to seek His face and in doing so learn to hear and know the sound of His voice. WE SHEEP NEED TO HEAR OUR SHEPARDS VOICE in every situation and or circumstance that life may bring!! He who holds all things together by the power of His word has promised: " to never leave us or forsake us". "His grace and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives". I'm unsure about a lot of things right now, but "God knows the way I take" and I needed to be reminded of this reality this morning. Shepard, King, Soul rest, contentment with godliness, head faith, heart faith, "from out of the heart the mouth speaks", the character and nature of our Shepard and king, His perfect love for us displacing all our fears and anxiety. The question always for us sheep to reflect on is who is God? What has He said and done in scripture and in my life? He has never failed to lead/guide and provide for His people/sheep. "His sheep hear His voice and will not follow another." We learn His voice and are protected from the wolves by the knowledge of His word/voice.

Thank you, sister. Janice and I truly needed to sit and breathe this in again at mid-week. We are so thankful for you and everyone at Union City Church. We love the congregation and your faithfulness to equip, encourage, and inspire the saints to seek and remember the words and example that our Shepard and King gave to us. The disciplines of grace that you mentioned have been essential to and for spiritual formation in our lives. Life is constantly squeezing us like a winepress, and by God's grace, slowly but surely, we hope that what comes forth will be the fruit of the spirit!

Thank you, Brandon, for reminding us that God wants His children to grow wherever He has planted them and to be giving off the fragrance of Christ, reflecting His image, being a light bearer, and living out the gospel even before speaking it in other words I should be a living sermon. Also thank you so much for articulating clearly what an ambassador of Christ truly means and looks like.
