Did he do himself any favours by being a liar and cheater? also no. They should have just banned him when he was actually cheating. and keep him from entering any online tournaments. its called consequences of your actions. does it suck? yeah. does it suck to be cheated? yeah. does the punishment fit the crime? yeah. Don't cheat in anything ever. and then it can never come to bite you. he did the right thing by suing to avoid getting dog-piled over basically stuff in the past. but that is because he wasn't really punished meaningfully back then.

Personally I think if you have ever cheated in a sport/ or in a game. and it can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. you should either be banned for life. or on some kind of special prohibition where every events can take extra measures specifically against you. Its not because I am cruel. its because once the well is poisoned, and a "respected" Champion. is found out to be a cheater. its over. sponsors pull out, and the whole scene gets reset back to the stone age. The same way its not fair to be up against a known cheater. as a non-cheater. you have the added worry of getting your record destroyed by a cheater.
