Set the center height to the spindle first. Then used a height gauge to set the offset for the radius

@@stovepipe666 все это хорошо ! но если нужно уложится 0.05 мм на диаметр как быть ?
@stovepipe6662 ай бұрын
@@user-ll9lh4qy5fthere’s also a digital readout on this machine you could also use gauge blocks if you need that amount of precision to set the radius.

ive been looking through some photos from your build of this. looking at the axle tube, did you bore the ID all the way through, and just machine a small recess for a top hat bearing, instead of like on the drawings where you bore out the length of the bearing
@stovepipe6664 ай бұрын
looking at them earlier i machined a step on the axel tube and made a top hat bush to suit far as i can remember the bore was big enough to pass the axel through the center of the tube, are you after starting building one
@andyg34 ай бұрын
@@stovepipe666 I have started already, currently machining the axle tube, bore it next. Impossible to get castings now though, this is from a pattern someone else made and isn't very accurate, my bore will have to be a lot bigger

Hello Stovepipe. I like your spindle support. Did you make that yourself or did it come with the machine? I may copy yours as my HBM didn't come with one. Do you know what kind of clearance you have between the bronze bushing and the spindle? Have a happy new year. Thanks, Ken
@stovepipe6666 ай бұрын
Hi that machine is sold now it had a nice sliding fit over the spindle not too tight made a big difference to reduce chatter it was a casting and most of the material inside on the back was hollow which kept it lightweight happy new year to ye all

Hi Fergal, always great fun to watch all these familiar parts in an extra-ordinary scale :) I think the shaft for the brake needs a bit more play in the bracket as it is following a curved movement of the lever at the bottom ?
@stovepipe6666 ай бұрын
hi chris yes that bracket has a bit of play to allow for movement, the parts get a lot bigger and heavier
